I made a similar mistake heading to Chiang Mai. In 1971, I took the wrong hwy and heased to Laos. And back in those days that was a no no with sentries with M16's blocking the way.

The desire to constantly film stuff definitely takes something away from a trip. It’s great to have a record but weird to discover you missed taking in lots of scenery and features. The time loss from filming needs to be considered.

Pretty long ride, Lao is mountainous country, quite opposite to Thailand. Unfortunately getting in and out of the country is rather complicated.

I thought the filming (perhaps editing) but the visual story telling in the solo vlogs were more considered; perhaps because there was not two people...ie one to film one to present and hence predictable. One video each Monday or Tuesday whatever per week a' la Gottogo would be timely and something to look forward to.

Yes in Liss' ones she very deliberately shot things, which makes it much prettier and much easier to edit, but in total takes a lot longer. We're looking for options to get someone else to edit because it's a grind doing it on the road and 2x weekly episodes is beyond the limit of what's feasible.

Ahh the Schuberth E1. Great helmet, which go pro attachment are you using? When we went you couldn't get one of the helmet so had to go with the horrible side attachment which we hated. Great vid btw

Yes there are some attachments but I went for epoxy putty and making my own mount, as I have done the last few times. Your footage looked great though, and this one pulls the helmet down on my eyebrows, and the chin bar falls shut which isn't safe when I'm riding, and it turns on the GoPro when I open it! -H

@@RidingOnEggshells Ah fair call, with the side camera though it was so hard to judge what was being filmed and the angle. We have countless hours if footage we cant use as it was looking and the sky or half the frame was a big white blob haha. But overall I do love thay helmet for travel though, bought another recently on offer

@@James_4444 yes I am considering rigging a battery pack at the back so it balances out, or switching from a GoPro to a very small camera, cos the GoPro we have is super unreliable. Crashes constantly and goes into some weird thinking mode every time I put in a new battery.

I install it in Chiang Mai, which is probably about 3 episodes from now and WOW. Glad I didn't have it for Oz because I feel like I'm ringing its neck to go 100kph, but off-road it's delicious. Snappy, can pop wheelies easily, likes to break loose in gravel. Great for Off-roading, but I do have a 15t with me still in case we need it when we get to Europe. -H

I've actually talked to an old friend in Oz to see if we can get help editing so we can do that. We know we'd do way better in terms of growth if we could do 2x per week, but it just is so demanding all we end up doing is ride and edit and sleep. And it gets us in a grump, on a laptop... Let's see how this goes maybe we soon will! -H
