I have thought that gretchen / snotlings come first when starting from absolutely scratch. And start immediatelly forming communities by tending to the fungi and possibly making environment more favourable for bigger breeds. And only after that can squiggs and and orks come to be or atleast makes process faster. For if squiggs were first they would just run around and kill everything they can. Including later emerging gretchen and orks.

i never considered that pain an suffering was a straight up food source, an item necessary to survive. The second i made that realization their culture doesnt seem so strange to me. Like we slaughter and prepare food, they do as well, they have massive eateries all over commorragh, providing the masses with nourishment, although i feel they could avoid the whole raiding thing after a certain time, humans in particular are pretty fast breeders, but then again considering how humans handle extreme fear and suffering, the food may not be as good when its captive bred. i guess this implies that food has a large part to play in culture building as well, if you can only eat the pain and suffering of sentient beings, your culture is going to reflect that pretty hard lol

This is just making me wish there was a DEldar quest. At the start you'd pick kabal, wych cult, or coven, with pros, cons, and win conditions unique to each. From there, it's a management quest with interspersed tabletop sessions or simulated combat roles, and of course you're rewarded for being... "creative" in your approaches to situations.

I had to listen to this video a few times before I realized that 'lone, knife-armed witch' meant a witch armed with a knife instead of witch with knives for arms. For some reason I kept imagining it as if they surgically removed her arms and stuck knives, blade out, in the stumps.
