The Wyrmway Guide for Baldur's Gate 3 from Start to Finish

This is bugged for me. I pick up the torch in the first room, combat initiates and the game just says "environmental turn" but the enemies just stand still. Had this happen on other fights, usually reloading or switching between party members fixes it but not this time. Shame, the place looks cool. Edit: found a reddit post saying to use quick save once the encounter gets stuck. It actually worked.

BTW the chess board was set up completely differently for me. Gale offered advice and was completely accurate!

Just play aggressive chess, put your queen as close to the king as possible and protect the queen with another piece.

The chessboard is randomly generated as I had the same problem lol

If you struggle with the chess part because every chess puzzle is different, you can just use a lightning spell on it like lightning bolt as its vulnerable to lightning damage

Room 1: Use Sanctuary on 1 Character. Room 2: Remove Curse on Judge, Insert 'Cell' Painting Room 3: Shoot person on left. Room 4: Play Chess (random placements)

About the chess board, for me at least, if you bring Gale, Gale will offer his thoughts on how to win and if you let him, Gale will just give you the steps on how to win

For the "survive 4 turns" I just cast Globe of Invulnerability on top of the party and just passed the turns. You need 2 casts to last but I did it with taking 0 dmg.

No XP from the mobs in the survival challenge sadly. The armor on my dragonborn Tox at this point was +2 plate armor with a blue dye on it. I believe I picked it up off a vendor in the city, but I can't quite remember where unfortunately. Glad you've enjoyed!

This whole trial is beyond scuffed and so poorly designed. It's as if I am playing an entirely different game when you compare it to the rest of the game. The real puzzles are how to get access to the tools you need to solve what are dead simple solutions. The chess board is so scuffed for me, not allowing me to make any moves without resetting. The insight one had my books just get destroyed when I did anything to them, and the judgement one makes NO sense as to why you would remove curse on the judge. I love puzzles in games, but a well-established rule of thumb in puzzlemaking is that understanding HOW to solve the puzzle should be dead simple, but finding the solution should be the challenging part. These were literally the exact opposite.
