I find this company to be SO inspiring - they're just not afraid to try things - it's so refreshing!

Teenage Engineering reminds me of Amiga guys back into 80s, so ahead of their time!

How did he do the jazz riff and crank at 10:22? Using endless sequencer and the crank somehow but I can't figure it out.

12 seconds on the synth sampler and 20 seconds if you use the drum sampler.

"The OP-1 Synthesizer sells for $849, it's not so accessible"... That comment didn't age well as I just dropped $1,300 for the same device, same components, and in some cases now outdated hardware... Like a screen, from 9 years ago, is now more expensive somehow? I don't know if the shortage was a planned event back in the day, but it sure as hell did show that people are willing to pay waaaayy more for this device than $849. Other than that, great vid!

Super awesome presentation. Love this company and their products. I hope an OP-2 will be born in the near future.
@godjesus32328 жыл бұрын
they most likely arent going to do an op-2 in the sense that it is a better op-1, but they are working on something called the "op-z" you can find videos of a muscian who goes by "cuckoo" interviewing the lead engineer on the op-z and him talking about the likelihood of an op-1 sequel.

So they've created the OP-1 Field :)

@@flower5185 it's a prototype, not an OP1. No speaker or battery indicator on the side. But I'd slap a baby for a black OP1.

So music only has one channel of sound today? Whatever happened to the sonic breadth of stereo? This kind of reductionism is anathema to the progress that has been made in the world of audio engineering and reproduction. If TE want to make things fun, it shouldn’t remove the basic elements of fun. Mono is not as fun as stereo. Stereo is not as fun as surround sound. To kill a whole dimension of sound is cruel. Reducing two-dimensional sound to mono is backward. Would you cut one of your ears off to make it more fun? And don’t tell me about how you can link the speakers together to produce a stereo field. That info, if you dig in to the adspeak, is buried under the heaps of self-praise for the re-engineering and technical innovation of the addition of a Linux based computer. It’s the stated goal of the marketing that one speaker should suffice. There is ONE speaker in the promotional image. And I hate that.
