Ultra short throw projectors also have a specific screen that makes it easier to see in bright light. The screen basically has a saw tooth pattern that's that can catch light from below but blocks out most light from up top

One, it is called ALR, or CLR, depending on which one you are looking for. It is not really a "saw tooth" as you called it. CLR: Ceiling Light Rejection screen, uses a step like approach from to to bottom to reject light from above, while allowing the light from the UST to be reflected to the watching position. ALR: Ambient Light Rejection, is a Frenal screen that has a pattern that "radiates" from the lower center and out to reject the light from let, top and right while allowing the light from the UST to be reflected to the viewing position. Both have a weakness, but frenal has an offset angle, like an LCD tv would, but also rejecting light from side to side that CLR does not. I own a Frenal ALR ( Hisense hard Frenal 100" ) and it works very well it a normally lit room with lights on.

I have the BenQ x3000i. It's pretty great, has 4K, HDR, 120hz, and 3000 lumens. My only complaint is no VRR, but not many projectors do yet

I've got an 85 inch tv in the lounge getting a 100 for the theater room doesn't make sense.a project at 120 inch makes more sense. 115 inch tvs are too expensive

Lower-spec, cheap option I'm exploring: Xbox 360 or Wii to a simple, portable projector onto a collapsible 4:3 screen. Both of those consoles can output at 4:3 and many of their games don't need, or even support, high-res visuals. Ability to set it up anywhere is a big plus, too.
