Thomas, I like your reviews and you are the only reviewer I've found who measures boot/trunk dimensions but searching through your reviews I cannot find a review of the Hyundai Inster. Es war ein stark modifiziertes Prototyp Fahrzeug. Praktisch komplett leergeräumt, nicht mal ein vollständiges Armaturenbrett. Dazu auch Slick Reifen (ohne Straßenzulassung) soweit ich gesehen habe. Daher kein Vergleich zum Porsche Taycan (der so weit ich mich erinnere ein normales Serienfahrzeug auf Semi Slicks war)

The prototype version is more like a GT3 racing car style version of su7 ultra, share same body-in-white and powerchain with produce version but have aerodynamic modification and rebuild suspension by prodrive. 6:46 definitely is not the best record the prototype car can reach, it may reach 6:30 in a good track condition. For the produce version, sub 7:10 lap time (similar to record breaking Taycan Turbo GT) is what I expected.

Yeah, you're absolutely right, but don't let xiaomi fool us, because it's absolutely clear that they just made a prototype like VW ID .R and dropped it to the Nurburgring , and even not setting a lap record for electric prototypes))) it's just hilarious to see people being delighted about xiamo SU7 ultra forgot to mention that their Nurburgring car have nothing similar with any street legal cars or racing cars classes, so its just mean that VW ID.R is the fastest electric protorype on the Nurburgring and the xiamo su7 ultra don't 🤣 Its just very poor marketing ploy from xiamo🤣

You cannot fault this level of performance at such an absurdly low price. I am a Porsche fan, but this makes the Taycan seem criminally overpriced.

The SU7 Ultra used on the Nürburgring was a highly modified car, a prototype, and except for the drivetrain and electric motors it has nothing to do with the conventional SU7 Ultra. The conventional one you can buy as a customer should slot between Porsche Taycan and Rimac Nevera if everything works in favor of it. It simply has more cheap power from the electric motors which kinda helps. But it could totally be possible that it falls behind the Porsche Taycan. And here comes another kicker: Endurance. The Porsche Taycan can do this basically all day every day without major issues. The SU7 Ultra won't be able to do that. Quality costs money. The Lucid Air Sapphire shows that. If you want an alternative which is equally as fast or even faster than the Taycan around a racetrack and does not cost crazy amounts like the Rimac Nevera, then your only option is to look at the Lucid Air Sapphire. It costs the same as the Porsche Taycan tho. Sorry to destroy your dream.

​​​​@@yissibiiyteno, the motor is 100% not the most important part. More power from electric motors is like the easiest part of modern engineering. Everyone can do that. "Removing a bit of the earo is not going to make it lose over 20sec of time". It surely can happen, especially because the mass produced version is much much heavier. If you want quality performance there simply is no other competition than the Lucid Air Sapphire and Porsche Taycan GT.

If "everyone can do that" why is the Xiaomi the 2nd most powerful EV behind only Rimac? And you are just making clueless guesses about how much time the production car will lose. 20 seconds is an absolute eternity on the Ring, the differences in time between a real Model S Plaid (which has got horrendous track aero) and the tricked-out, modified-to-hell one Tesla used to lie about setting a record, wasn't even 20 seconds.

Aero and weight (for the SU7 Ultra production car = masive amounts of more weight!) and tires always make a huge difference. The production car will be much slower, that is for sure, and it could easily be 20sec slower. And again: Porsche and Lucid build very solid performance EVs. This quality costs money

Xiaomi had not come to my attention, and Nurburgring is always interesting, so thank you. If there is one major point which you brought out it is that quick EVs are so heavy. The design goal must be to get to something which is like a Mazda MX5 or a Porsche Cayman, and I would sacrifice a lot of range and interior fixtures and fittings or UI/UX to get to something which handles better. Besides big batteries look like a lousy investment in a technology which will be out of date in a couple of years.

Thanks for the feedback. Just wanted to try something new as a test, I think it looks quite fancy. Since this was a "talking" episode only I wanted something looking nice without violating copyright. We dont use 3rd party footage or images.
