I’ve had my f1 since August and I lifted it the other day to clean under it. I put it back now the protective shield is loose and leaking smoke when I cut wood projects. Not sure what to do.

I was pleased but surprised to see you do this! I think I heard you all answer a question on an episode (published) recently about getting an F1 by saying they’d be better off getting a “real” IR laser for that money. 😬 I’m not a pro-I’m a hobbyist, and I bought the xTool M1 for the very reasons you mention here-simple out-of-the-box experience. xTool has put a usability layer over the laser experience that makes it more approachable for beginners like me. I know these aren’t the kind of devices you typically discuss, but I sure hope we hear you talk more about them and possibly build a following of more folks like me. Maybe we could create an xTool/XCS online area if there isn’t already one (if there is, I haven’t found it yet).

Great video. But I am still not sure about getting the F1. There are so much more powerful Galvo Fiber Lasers to choose from for about $1000 dollars more.

Today I learned that xTool no longer sells parts or laser heads for their D1 model. I was told this by a user who claims his 20w head died after less than 2 years, and when he tried to replace it he discovered they no longer sell heads for the D1. Can anyone confirm this? If so, such a short support life is a definite deal-breaker for me and I will not even consider an xTool machine, no matter what they release.

What is your opinion about Xtool F1 and Tumblers? could this be an option to engrave tumblers for business?

This is the laser I want. Thank you for your review on this and deep dive. I stumbled upon xtool f1 a couple months ago and was sold. I definitely want this to start my own business in laser engraving. This is definitely the perfect size for someone who doesn't have a lot of room like me. Never done laser engraving before but the way they set this up makes it look like anyone can do this. Definitely saving up for this

It 100% has the size and ease of getting started going for it! Just need to keep the scope of use realistic for its power output. Cutting or deep engraving isn't where this shines, but quick surface marks on manageable sized customizable things its pretty solid.

If you have not already pulled the trigger, you might want to re-think buying from xTool. I just learned they no longer sell parts or heads for their D1 machine, which they were pushing HARD only a year ago. I'd do some research into the support life of their machines before entrusting your business to one.

I love the unboxing video but had a travel question. Anyone using the xTool F1 for craft fair or even just to travel with? Should I use the box it came in or a piece of luggage.

Box it came with doesn’t fit all of its attachments (air purifier, extension, etc.) An option I’ve seen people buy is Versatack from Lowes’s.
