Too much stress and too little stress look identical when viewed through the lens of productivity. In other words, you might not getting things done because you don’t care enough, or you might not be getting things done because you care too much!
So often we misunderstand the relationship between stress and productivity and just pile more and more stress onto an already overwhelmed system, which just makes the problem worse. The relationship between stress and productivity is shown through a simple graph illustrating a principle called the Yerkes-Dodson law.
