The Yoga of Surfing | Finding my Zen in Varkala Beach India 🇮🇳

“Surfing has become an extension of my yoga practice. It is a form of meditation. When I'm in the water I completely forget about everything else. Whatever is troubling me, dissolves in the waves.” This has been my experience while surfing in Varkala Beach, in Kerala, on the south of India.
In the past, every time I traveled to India, I would spend most of my time in Mysore or Rishikesh visiting ashrams and practicing yoga. But now that I've discovered surfing in India, I can’t think of doing anything else. Instead of visiting ashrams now I just want to visit surf spots in Varkala.
So it seems that I'm moving away from my yogic path, but at the same time perhaps I'm not. There is more to surfing than just a sport. Let me show you what I mean with this video, while at the same time, I show you what surfing in India looks like.

I enjoyed so much Varkala that I decided to stay as long as I could.

My necklace? Long long time ago in my home country, Ecuador. But if you refer to the long one with beads, that’s a mala and I got it here in India.
