@geobot9k3 жыл бұрын
@@ramisklk this is so bittersweet. On one hand, it's beautiful to see parents nurture their kids' creativity and curiosity in such a positive and constructive way, makes me think this is how parenting should be done. On the other hand, how many people are doomed to miss their growth potential because their parents don't have the time and resources like these ones do? I love my parents and appreciate how hard they work, but we were robbed of so much time together in order to pay bills and keep a roof that they're practically strangers. I was raised by screens, disconnected from my family's culture, feel out of place with my own family, and the more I think about this whole situation literally billions of other people are in, the more disturbing this whole system is.
@2DarkHorizon2 жыл бұрын
@@geobot9k It is very natural it is like that. Everyone is taught go to school at 5, but not to learn before then, then go to uni and then get a job. Then get married. In life we all pushed to do things in a conventional way. How to love someone how to speak how to sing how to walk how to dance. So I don't feel bad about it. I read about prodigies growth and experience. basically learning can start at day 1 for a baby or even in the womb of the mother. So such parents are unconventional and different. Therefore will get results that are different. It is a road which has its own dangers. Growing up very intelligent or at least very educated changes you as a person you will need other support measures in place and your own parents may not even be capable or have the natural fortitude for it. Look at South Korea and their society and their low birth rate. This type of living where extreme emphasis on education isn;t for everyone. Also top Ivy league university take extracurricular activities into account because they understood learning outside of school is very valid.

He's a smart kid, but: I mean 2 years in Kerbal Space Program and I'd be very surprised if he hadn't managed to build stuff in it, though the first flying rocket mention is a bit weird because the game has a tutorial where you build your first rocket and launch it. It's a lot less impressive to say 'followed instructions in a tutorial' though. It's not a good example of physics other than the rocket equation either. From the code we've seen, he's at the level of people just starting to learn how to program. We see RGB LEDs changing colour on an arduino and a 'Worm Race' with no arrays to track the worms, which is indicative of someone who has only just started and isn't yet able to form solutions that combine data structures and loops. With the assistance from his father, it's hard to tell if he can actually succeed as a programmer, because the ability to write his own algorithms is not demonstrated. A kid of his age playing minecraft? Of course, it's older than he is, of course he can pick up some redstone knowledge, a lot of kids are being given that game as early as age 4 or 5. Quantum Computing is -right- out the window for an 8 year old. If you don't believe me go check out the Quantum Computing Stack Exchange site and realise that there is no way anyone lacking both degree level physics and computer science knowledge could possibly tackle any of it. I've thought the idea of Quantum computers were cool since I was his age, but there's no way that an 8 year old could understand how one really works. An IQ of 134 just about scrapes him into Mensa, that's a 1 in 50 IQ. That means that for an american highschool of 800 students there will be 16 students on the level of this child. The difference is that they don't get videos made about them just for being the top of their class. However, in 15 years time, and you can go back on KZbin and look at older child prodigies and where they ended up, they will be in very similar or the same positions as other kids simply deemed "smart" at their school. The myth of the child prodigy needs to end, high intelligence is not a 1 in a million thing, it's something that you can find hundreds or even thousands of in any given city. For anyone who is feeling put down by the achievements of this kid, from what is shown in the video you could be beyond that level in less than a week with the determination, as it is a beginner level.
@daebak73706 жыл бұрын
V 0 1 D i can assure you there is not that many kids at his intelligence level in your average american school esp. for his age. maybe im wrong but it sounds like you wrote all this to make yourself feel better about yourself..the kid is clearly a prodigy.
@Bertox1106 жыл бұрын
V 0 1 D is right, it doesnt look like he wants to make himself feel better and since when is it not allowed to give feedback
@V01DFox6 жыл бұрын
Are you joking? IQ scores are statistics based, just do the maths on the amount of high IQ individuals. These are beginner projects, the code examples are literally tutorials, that's not prodigious. Here are examples of historical prodigies that the media compares these poor kids to: -Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart created his first musical compositions at age 4, performed in concerts at age 6 and completed his first symphony at age 8. -Carl Friedrich Gauss corrected his father's mathematical errors at the age of 3, solved arithmetic series problems at age 7 faster than any of his peers and solved complex mathematical problems while still a teenager. -Blaise Pascal wrote a treatise on vibrating bodies at the age of 9. -A real Computer Science prodigy, John von Neumann could divide two 8 digit numbers in his head at age 6, could talk Ancient Greek and thought that other people when staring into space must have been performing complex calculations like he did. There are less than 50-100 such people per century that appear in history. Kids like the one in the video are being pushed by the media and often their parents, but it turns up shallow, the kid has no idea how a quantum computer works, he's building an arduino project to change the color of an RGB LED, as kids do, as an introduction to coding.

But like CS it doesn’t have a language, just ones that make data visualization and management easier. And game dev is mostly c/c++ and c#, Java can but does it poorly because of jvm needing to translate first. Python has pygame and objective c for iOS

I use that to change my username on this education website at school all the time,and also to prank people. Inspection isn’t a new thing. All you need to do is to click on the thing you want to choose with 2 fingers,inspect,go to the blue highlighted bar,edit as HTML,and when you see the thing you want to change,change that, then press, X and boom. Done.

It’s sad. My brother is a prodigy but I’m not. I try so hard to get good marks. He doesn’t try and still gets it.
@mikyu47586 жыл бұрын
It's OK, just try your best! Everyone is born differently, but if you try hard enough I bet you could also get good marks :)

That was me too! My brother wouldn’t even study and could get an A on a test. But he has an amazing memory. I had to work 10xs harder but got better grades because I did my homework. 😜

Don't be bitter about something that none of you decided upon (IQ). Instead of being sad, know your own capacities (and do not expect to learn something the same way your brother does, it's useless and dangerous for you) and have DISCIPLINE. Without discipline, not even your brother can go further because there will be a time when standing and playing around won't allow him to get the marks he'll need to get into a good university or even allow him to have a good job/start a business. Even geniuses who built their companies were very disciplined and spend LOT OF TIME to get success.
@nirv27965 жыл бұрын
@@MarokoJin It doesn't have to be iq who knows maybe more attention is paid to in class. Maybe it's the mindset you can't improve that makes you put a type of handicap on your mind from excelling.

EHHEHEHEHEHHE when someone shoots a rpg I build a strong giant 3 floor fort in about one minute, iron/steel and all that metal on front, next layer is bricks, then wood, then I connect the walls with metal stairs then I build the upstairs floor 2, metal walls brick stairs and then another room on floor 2 to go up and it's all protected by metal, then I add a trap if I have one, 3rd floor just a metal room w a window and I try to get a headshot on em.

Lebron James dude, thats not how asian parents work actually. If you're already the best, then they'll give nonsense such as keep it up, or something boring. Academical competition is boring anyway.

Man he's lucky to have those parents, most of the kids like him either suffered from depression,suicidal thoughts and loneliness without friends because their own parents forced them to learn things that they don't have interest in or don't want to learn and detached them from society to make them study
