The history of Yugoslavia is a sad story about transformation of the dream of a united south slavic state, where all nations are equal, into the idea of serbian imperialism.
@NousoftheSupremeАй бұрын
No it is not. You don't understand the history of the region whatsoever. The Serbs fought bitterly to liberate all these lands from Europe's superpowers, and once done, they didn't consume them, they allowed them into a greater joint kingdom of Serbs Croats and Slovenians, later transformed into a federation of states, Yugoslavia. Bosnia had been annexed by Austro Hungary, and Croatia was under their rule completely. Croats had been under other's rule for over 5 centuries before. They fought for Austro Hungary in WW1 against the allied nations. same as they did for the German regime, later on in WW2. At the time of creation of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats, and Slovenians, Serbian king (Aleksandar Karadjordjevic) was given the choice to create greater Serbia consuming all these lands, but to share some of the territory (such as Istria) with the allies (Italy), which would mean that the Croats would lose it forever. He decided to sacrifice that to allow the other ethnicities of Balkans a chance at freedom and keep their historic territories under a joint kingdom. We saw how the Croats repaid them in WW2. Then all these "nations" at the so called breakup of Yugoslavia decided that they have their right to exit the federation at their will, at the expense of, ultimately, Serbia, and Serbs within their own borders. Because Serbia was always the head state, the creator of the federation. The only reasonable reaction to this by the Yugoslav army is to prevent rogue elements from destroying the integrity of the federation. The existence of the army of Yugoslavia, or SFRJ is to preserve the federations territorial integrity. Serbs in those lands stood up into volunteer brigades, not wanting to be separated from their motherland. The rest follows. When nations are at play, it is really important to follow the timeline from a longer perspective. There you have it, a very factual, objective history lesson of the conflict. Hope you learned something new. These facts are confirmed by many Croatian historians.
@meduzsazsa8490Ай бұрын
@@NousoftheSupremewow poor Serbs what the angels, they liberated everyone and gave them freedom 😇 You really love propaganda and lies, don't you? 😂 Serbs didn't liberate anything. Both Croatia and Slovenia declared THEMSELVES the seperation from Austria-Hungary, independence and unification with each other. There was not a war for liberating Croatia and Slovenia, there was no need to, it was enough to only announce the seperation because Austria-Hungary was collapsing and they didnt have power to make them stay. Serbs didn't liberate anyone or anything, actually they occupied Montenegro, illegally announced the annexation of Vojvodina and entered Croatia by themselves and then blackmailed Croats to let them inside or else they'll annex Bosnia, Slavonia and Dalmatia. "He sacrifised that to allow other nations to keep their historical territories" how can you be such a liar? Karađorđević literally cancelled all the historical territories of other nations and made Yugoslavia centralized. There were literally tens of conditions croatian and slovenian representatives made in order to unite with Serbia and Karađorđević refused all of them. He refused to keep historical territories, he refused to let the people decide the organization of the country, he literally refused every single condition and asked for UNCONDITIONAL unification. He abolished croatian historical regions, created some random territorial areas that have nothing to do with Croatia, Bosnia and Slovenia. He forbade the usage of croatian and slovenian flags, coat of arms or any national or ethnic sign. He needed years to make a constitution and when croatian parties finally grew stronger and were ready to change the politics of the country, they were killed. And after that Karađorđević announced the dictatorship, he had unlimited power over the whole country. We were in 20th century and he ruled like it was 1600s. Kingdom of Yugoslavia was a totalitarian centralized absolute monarchy that didn't give any historical or national rights to anyone besides Serbs and got rid of any politician who didn't agree with it. Those are the conditions in which ustaša movement was formed. Ustaše took it to another level and did huge crimes, but they were originally formed as a revolutionary organization against serbian absolute and unlimited power over the whole country. I don't know is it that you want to lie and live in fantasies or they didnt teach you this in school? Either way, you're unfortunately brainwashed. Yugoslavia in fact was a greater Serbia :(

@@1tsbag134 Partizans were Croatian? Yeah but at a smaller percentage than any of the neighboring countries. They were also SS officers, their country was literally outwardly supporting and collaborating with the German regime of WW2? Are you ok? You don't see me mention that? Also they, during that same war, were set to completely destroy the ethnic Serbs and Orthodox Christianity within their borders, committing the most brutal genocide in the history of modern war. They were so partizan, that they built Aushwitz style concentration camps for Serbs, with some especially dedicated to children. When the German high ranking personnel came for inspection of said camps, they were shocked and disgusted at the conditions of these camps. Now people act like these were ancient times, but no, in fact, many people who lived through this, were alive during the breakup of Yugoslavia. I hope you understand how crazy and biased it is that everyone keeps blaming Serbia. The western propaganda made them out to be a "bad guy" like they did with Russia, who was their ally in both world wars. In fact, both the countries were.

Wrong depiction at the end. It shows Bosnia as a unitary state with only muslim troops in while croat and serb troops retreating out. Weterans of all three sides stayed in and Bosnia was divided internaly into Republic of Srpska where local Serbian army stayed (there was no official Yugoslav army from Serbia involved) and Federation of B&H where croats and muslims are with their armies. Most were disbanded after Dayton greement was signed.
@meduzsazsa8490Ай бұрын
While I don't agree with your claim that JNA didn't participate in bosnian war, I have to agree that this depiction is wrong because it shows that army of Bosniaks is actually the only correct army and that it's an official army of Bosnia and Herzegovina that's trying to liberate occupied lands from Serbs and Croats while it's not like that. Army of Bosniaks was as legitimate as armies of Croats and Serbs. There's no correct and incorrect army, all 3 armies were ethnically based and had mission to preserve the territories with their majority. Serbs did take it too far and were enemies, but bosniak army was NOT an official army of "unitary bosnian state", but just one of 3 ethnically based armies

Also foundation date of the Army of Bosnia Herzegovina is not correct, HVO was founded earlier and Serbs never controlled some parts of Bosnia Herzegovina at all, especially true for some Croatian and Bosniak majority cities.
