I just got all 4 different ones because they were $5.25 box of two each from silver, gold,flat black, shiny black nickel. I just use them yesterday and they got me a nice big mouth bass fresh water I'm in the high Desert N.M. using the Z MAN TRD Junebug and the 1/4 ounce big eye 0/4# hook gold and the flat black one in very dirty water like chocolate milk. Like the Z MAN stuff.

We turn the swimbait upside-down for chatterbait. It looks a little more "natural". Works for freshwater. I don't know about saltwater though.

I just used this chatter bait yesterday morning, BAM first cast a caught a 30” Ribbon fish. In an hour I ended up catching 21 Ribbon fish & a 14” speckle trout. So yes it works in salt water.

They do go through weeds pretty well, which is great for grass flats on an incoming, dirt water. Also turning a paddle tail helps it retain its action with some baits

This^ Though the chatterbait isn’t weedless, they do work well in many vegetation scenarios. Very common in the bass world when fishing eel grass or other lighter vegetation. Strikes come mostly right after you “pop-it” through eel grass or other not so thick vegetation. I’d assume the same goes for murky/tannic saltwater scenarios.

The jerk shads are probably perfect for chatterbaits because they make enough vibration from the blade and a paddle tail can fight the blade.

Hey Gang just noticed y'all are pitching the Z-Man Eye Strike Chatterbait in my experience I have found that the Spunk Shad by Hog Farmer pairs up well with all of Z Mans Chatterbait products. Amazing action with sizes from 3.5" to 6.5" ( I tend to use the larger sizes pending on size of chatterbait) it also has up to 20 different color selections to chose from. Hope this helps some of you on the fence and I can't wait to try the Eye Strike Chatterbait! Tight Lines and Screaming Drags! Happy Holidays.....

The jerk shad is an excellent option. The tail mimmicks the blade vibration, where as a paddle tail bait can sometimes disrupt the synchronization.

I love these. Bass/catfish destroy these. Try a ½oz with the 5/0 and put it on a medium or large size gilly. They hit. I know your talking salt water, but they work everywhere there is fish
