The 1920s were a difficult time for China. It had only recently broken from the dynastic system that had been in use for many centuries, and revolution was close at hand. Enter Chiang Kai-shek, who would attempt to unify the country. But will it work?

A small note: Most Manchus were not from as far west as Mongolia, however, they adopted many aspects of Mongolian culture and language. But they are an entirely separate ethnic group from Mongols.

Great job. I like to have historical information of different events/movements within the time frame. It helps with putting everything that comes after into perspective.

Aww, too bad you didn’t post this like a week ago! I just did a project on Mao Zedong and this would have been a perfect reference! Thanks for this video :)

A good overview but the Qing were from what is now northeastern China and some of the area north in what is now Russia. It is such a shame that Japan ended that dream of Sun's for democracy. The fact that the policies of Coolidge where he turned his back on financially helping China forcing Sun to turn toward the financing by the Soviets and put us in the mess we have today.

The crew of the gunboat USS San Pablo were stuck in the middle of this. They had to go rescue the Missionary people at China Light. A lot of people were killed at the bamboo boom that had been put in place over the river.

You did a great job, find some more this sounds promising as a world event oh I discovered old newsreels were faked from around the world they were made in studios and not from other countries I thought so as a kid watching the old stuff shown on an old tv show a show called everything you were told was a lie by that time I had already known that it was refreshing though it did include things I wasn't familiar with anyway.

I've seen a lot of people comparing the current USA to the end-stage Qing dynasty.

The Sand Pebbles is a good film. Good analysis by Stuart Fernie, on utube.
