I love the underlying message in the video. In the end, The 1975 were not the ones in a cookie cutter box like the reviewers claimed they were. In fact, the reviewers who hated their music were the ones boxing themselves in with their narrow mindset about how music should be.

This song was playing in the hospital when I heard my daughter's heartbeat for the first time when I was pregnant so the line "I know when you're around cos I know the sound of your heart" always brings happy tears to my eyes. I also saw them live in Brighton, November 2015 when I was 12 weeks pregnant. This album brings back so many happy memories!

And I think Matt's gonna eat his words. In prior interviews. he says they are not a pop band. Uh Matt, what do you call that??? That is pure 80ssynthnewwavepowerpop at it's finest. To me, if you don't have a killer pop sensibility, you're boring. Hooks rule. Bright choruses rule. Those "cliches" in the video do not apply. Pop music is SUPPOSED to be catchy, but the idea is to do it in such a way that is exciting and not formulaic. Familiar but with a twist of originality. Everything's been done before, yes, but give it a little fresh twist and some little familiar but either not obvious or forgotten about references, and you have a winner.

The one thing I always LOVE about this song and why frankly its one of those songs you HAVE to listen to with the video. I've gotten a ton of hate over my stories being called cringe and blah blah blah. But some of them are really deep with hidden meanings and like in the video, people say things like this and I just love at the guitar solo the tables are turned. Also one of the main reasons I love this band so much is because they showed me that it's okay to be different. And I know this sounds like one of those cliche, can-apply-to-any-band kind of thing, but it's not like that. Matty and the band, they do what they love, they do what makes them who they are, and that helped me become stronger in who I was and what I wanted to make. After I watched this video, I scrolled down to the comments below and I saw the hate comments, but I was unaffected. After watching in the video how they portrayed how they could get past what the critics said, it gave me a whole new mindset.
