Does this mess with the geometry of the lower control arm.
@The4Crawler3 жыл бұрын
Any lift on the IFS suspension will affect camber and toe in adjustment, so you'll generally need an alignment after installing the spacers. You may run into an adjustment limit on the alignment cams, that can vary vehicle to vehicle: www.4crawler.com/4x4/ForSale/BallJointSpacer.shtml#FAQ16 This may limit the maximum lift height you can achieve. This again is true of either cranking up the torsion bars or installing spacers. The advantage of the spacers is you can keep the torsion bars with less preload and also maintain the full range of up/down travel before the bump stops make contact, which can happen with torsion bar-only lift.

What does the 2wd control arm brace do? I'm confused since it mounts on top of the control arm
@The4Crawler Жыл бұрын
The brace reinforces the somewhat weak point where the upper ball joint bolts to the end of the upper control arm: www.4crawler.com/4x4/ForSale/BallJointSpacer.shtml#2wdUCABrc You can see that in this photo: www.4crawler.com/4x4/ForSale/Docs/Images/2WDspacer2.jpg We've found that when folks start taking 2WD pickups off road, that cantilevered ball joint hanging off the end of the control arm can cause the sheet metal, that the control arm is made out of, to bend and crack. The brace goes on top and sandwiches the control arm metal between the brace and the ball joint. The brace is made of 1/4" (~6mm) thick steel.

Hey there i was wondering if there 5inch spacers for toyota 4runner??? Or will i have to lift it with a complete lift kit??
@The4Crawler5 жыл бұрын
No way to even fit a spacer that tall in there. With the geometry of the front suspension, you have a fixed amount of up-down travel and the control arms only can accommodate so much lift before you can't get the front end to align. With a 5" spacer, the upper control arm would be horizontal and the lower arm down at such an extreme angle that the tires would be tipped out at the top and in at the bottom (positive camber). The only way around that is with one of the bolt-on lift kits with the dropped sub-frame. You space down all the stock components 4" - 6" below the frame and that gives you the lift while retaining the stock geometry. So for 5" lift, you could install a 4" drop bracket kit and then the ball joint spacers for that extra inch.
