I actually ordered these as a hiking/survival boot that had a military fit the outer sole and 8 inch support with the more serious waterproof construction that could go for all terrain. What do you charge for a survey of 60 acres? I have new neighbors that pulled up the old survey stakes and think they can move my fence. Is it illegal for them to pull them out?

Thanks for showing your review. I am in Iraq, I use these boots for walking, they are comfortable ( but every foot is different) the boots are not damaged after normal wear. I stand around in the flight line waiting for passengers to come off the aircraft for short periods of time 6-10 minutes at a time. There is a concrete pavement and the water when it rains does not puddle deep (1/2 in +) anywhere. However, when falling rain hits the boot in different directions, waterproofing can be a challenge for this boot. Everyone's situation may be different however, after standing, walking around, and coming in and out of the terminal; after ten months of use and for the first time in all that time it rains, my feet were wet after a two-hour exercise as I described above. I talked to Merrell customer service and the warranty is for one year, make sure you keep the purchase receipt and take pictures. So basically, if all goes well they will evaluate each situation and a satisfactory resolution will rise. However, what happens after a year? More than likely you will have to waterproof the boot and avoid the rain. Water membrane defect? Possible.

@@The570Experience Thanks for your reply. I must inform you that Merrell (MOAB 2 Side Zip 8") got back to me and stood up for their product on the possible defective water membrane and they will replace the boots without charge.

In following up with my previous posting on a possible water membrane failure, I have to say that Merrell provided a favorable and agreed to replace the boots. I provided pictures and complied with their warranty requirements. I am looking forward to wearing the new pair on the Flightline and exposing them to inclement weather when it arises.

I wear these boots anywhere from 8-16hrs a day…now with that being said, idk if it’s my sweaty feet (which it can’t be cause my feet are always cold in these boots) but I did step into a slush puddle during winter and a few minutes later my feet did feel soggy, i don’t know what they mean by “water proof” but these aren’t water proof and for 140-$160 I’d expect this boot to be as waterproof as those fisherman’s boots…

Merrel boots you forget to mention they use cheap glue on the solo and they fall apart after few months and there customer service after 20 emails say ok we send you a new pair but you wait and wait and wait 18 months and still no replacement ..

These are very comfortable boots, but they are not one bit waterproof. I wear mine for duty wear and have exposed them to many different wet environments. They have leaked and soaked my feet. They leak when walking in wet grass, walking in puddles, light rain, and heavy down pours. My feet got damp, wet and/or soaked each time. When I contacted the company they told me they are really not waterproof, but "top down" water resistant. They told me to treat mine with a waterproof-er they sold to make them more water replant. Its a real shame because they are very comfortable, but not one bit waterproof.
