I was really hoping we'd eventually get Zeo and beyond to see the stories after MMPR retold and reimagined, but a few years ago I began to accept that it was probably never going to happen when they just wouldn't move past MMPR. I genuinely loved the series and I'm happy it got to go to the places it did, I just wish it would have taken a chance and eventually leave the MMPR era behind as it seems the people calling the shots are terrified to do (understandably since it was their peak in popularity and relevance, but still...).

@Irrelevant66 Its written and directed by Karl Dutton. I think a lot of your audio streaming sites play it. I personally listen to it on Spotify. It's basically a retelling of the Original Series aiming to make it as epic as we thought it was when we were kids. LOL lt combines aspects of Super Sentai, The OG show, the comics and some Original ideas into one. They have 3 seasons. Enjoy it.

Me too, never expected power rangers could get really really really dark and quick. Never been this excited to hear the audio drama since the early days of power rangers. Never expected the talk back no jutsu from Jason, but I do give all the right to talk back like that especially against Zordon. It really makes feel like little kid again

Never read a single comic tbh, but I have been aware of the content and thought it looked great and, as you say, enabled the franchise to more darker and mature story lines. I loved the idea of Lord Drakkon, and hope they do something with this character going forward. I got back into power rangers when I had my children, although admittedly I don't think my love for the show ever really left, having my children to watch it with me, just took my love for the show to a whole new level. And.now, like yourself, I have figures on display, artwork and sorts of other memorabilia that me and my children absolutely adore. Keep up the good work mate, and may the power protect you.

I think there are lots of areas that the comics could expand on. What happens after RPM for example. Or a short arc on SPD squad A with some back story.

The comics were so exciting when we first met Drakkon, the Coinless, Matt, Alpha 1 and the Omega Rangers. Thing is, these are still the only things the comics are about. They could have had new rangers, new zords, new villains, more episodic adventures but it just stopped as soon as it reached a stable level of popularity.

Considering that Power Rangers is now fully a Hasbro IP. They like to centralize their IP’s at one publishers. And Skybound has seen almost impossible modern comics sales numbers with their new back to basics GI Joe and Transformers comics, I think it is reasonable to speculate that the PR comics might be heading to Skybound. McFarlane is going to be doing Power Rangers Page Punchers.

My heart sank a little when I heard this. Mostly because I didn't know what it meant for the comics. Boom Studios has been absolutely killing it with their power rangers comics. Small parts of it even made it to the original canon by the time Cosmic Fury ended last year. Ideally, I hope that it means that they're just moving away from the MMPR team and are going to start telling more stories with other ranger teams as the main focus. If they have something else in mind, then it's been a great ride

I may not have read the comic run, but I love that they were coming out with slightly more mature material for those of us who grew with the original Rangers. I have Battle for the Grid on my Switch and I love playing it. Stuff like this and even this channel itself got me back into the franchise. I've started collecting Ranger keys out here in Japan, and I was inspired to finally get a Green Ranger suit that I want to start using for charity events. So even though I haven't read the comics yet, I'm a huge fan of them. Hopefully, we will get more soon.

Maybe another Publisher like IDW will pick it up and reboot it. I'd trust IDW as I think they had done a great job with the Ninja Turtles. If someone like IDW starts publishing Power Rangers Comics, here's what I suggest: They get more than one writing team, and each one works on a different PR team. I'd personally collect: Mighty Morphin, Omega, Dino Thunder, Operation Overdrive, Jungle Fury, Samurai, Megaforce and Cosmic Fury. Obviously these are the PR Teams I'd read. We all have our own personal favourite teams.

It could just be the name for the title and they are doing a new #1 with them moving on the Ninja Ranger Mode and Shogun Zords. Makes sense timeline wise and they tease Zed and Rita getting together in, not the last issue but the second to last. It’s not over

I'm a huge fan of the comics, I've almost read every one of them. They allow me to continue following the Power Rangers many adventures that are cannon to the TV series or created for just the comic. First, Hasbro decides to take a break from the Power Rangers Lightning Collection, now BOOM! Studios calls it quits... I'm feeling very anxious right now. 😬

After reading an article about this topic, I was actually wondering if you were going to do a video about it. Which I am very glad just because hearing your thoughts and opinions about this topic. Honestly, I have to admit that the article that I read was a little sad in my opinion and I have really enjoyed the Power Rangers comic series that Boom! Studios has created. However, if this is the end for Boom! Studios and Power Rangers then I do hope that other comic companies, like IDW, Dark Horse or even Image takes a chance and create a new line of Power Rangers comics . Maybe even going to the length of creating a Sabanverse.

Reprints will stop once the license is up. Then it'll be up to the new license holder what to do with the previous run. We currently don't know what's going on with the license right now. Unless Ranger Academy ends abruptly, I'm not worried about it too much.

I've never purchased a comic but I've watched a bunch of reviews and I really enjoyed the stories. i haven't seen too much but have always intended on getting more involved. I'd love to see them continued but it would make sense to shift to a different team. In Space makes the most sense and the opportunity for intergalactic travel could make for some more interesting stories. Though with Dark Spectre presumably on the cusp of defeat I don't know who would be the big-bad of big-bads going forward.

The comics is what I always envisioned power rangers being as I got older. Characters who have conflicting feelings about the situations they are put in and fight, come back together, we were starting to get that near the end of Disney but because you had to reset to zero every episode and tied to the sentai footage we could never do stuff like the omega rangers or crazy arcs like sentai has been doing recently. The comics have been the peak storytelling of the franchise and are the main form of power rangers media I consume as sentai and rider are too hard watch sometimes and the show itself hasn’t appealed to me since RPM.

This was bound to happen sooner or later--with the Netflix power rangers reboot coming up, it was doubtful that Hasbro would continue to license out comics based on the original series. It is logical to assume they would want all the future merch to line up with the new reboot universe. I mean take a look at what Hasbro decided to do regarding tv. Instead of running a classic universe and a reboot universe they decided to end stories told in the classic universe with Cosmic Fury, have a time of waiting without power rangers on tv, and then have the reboot hit the airwaves. If the comic universe set in the classic universe were allowed to continue i would love to see a focus on Time Force or SPD. Another interesting focus would be MegaForce. The MegaForce tv series suffered from bad writing but those characters properly developed could be very interesting. I mean MegaForce and Zeo are quite possibly the two most powerful iterations of a Ranger team in existence. Zeo because the crystals get stronger with each use and MegaForce because they have access to the powers of all the other ranger teams. There were a lot of questions still left at the end of MegaForce especially regarding Gosei and his relationship to Zordon that could be explored in a comic book series.

Just because MMPR is ending, doesn't mean that that the Boom is going to stop making more PR comics. They still have Ranger Academy which is ongoing. Unless it ends with 12 at the end of year. It could also be that their license is expiring and Hasbro doesn't want to renew. Could be they don't have anyone that pitched them a good story to tell yet. We don't know. Hopefully they take a small break and have a new 'main' comic soon but if not, it's been a great ride. I'm not caught up but I've been enjoying it. I'm not too worried about this because at least they were able to finish this run and tell a complete story, unlike some liscenced comics out there like the IDW Transformers comics.

I've loved all the comics. I started re-reading them very recently. I do wish they had stayed printing the other teams along side the Mighty Morphins. I didn't get to into the one past Turbo.

Loved the comics. Loved how they humanized the characters. I enjoyed the shows when I was much younger, but going back and rewatching them, the original Rangers are kind of boring. They don't really have any decent flaws. Not so in the comics, where you get to watch Kimberly's life fall apart, or Trini's unrequited feelings (which weren't a part of the show, so far as I recall) or Billy struggling with his self-esteem (in a more believable way than the show), or Zack wanting to be famous for being a Ranger, or Jason feeling the need to protect the rest, to bear the burden himself. Honestly, if the more grown-up version that's been hinted at has that kind of character development, I will wholeheartedly follow it. I kind of hope they're just changing titles though. Like how they went from Mighty Morphin to Power Rangers or whatever it was just after Shattered Grid.

Mighty Morphin arc is ending, not Power Rangers itself. There's supposed to be an animated NetFlix series on the way, and I believe young adult reboot. For animated I'm not getting my hopes up, but strongly hope they'll collaborate and iterate with BOOM! Studios to bring their comics to life. For reboot, I just feel Mighty Morphin is where it should begin or possibly pre-team/era, though that could confuse everybody if explored too long.

Several years ago, me and a friend of mine had attempted to write a multi-part story taking a fresh look at Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, along with darker plots, and more mature story telling. We had even come up with a whole prehistory portion about the war that took place between Rita and Zordon 10,000 years prior. However, we were never able to finish it just due to just not having enough time in our lives. When Boom Studios began this comic series, it basically accomplished everything we ever wanted to do with our story. While our ideas weren't identical, I'm so glad I got to see the kind of Power Rangers stories my friend and I wanted to tell published officially! It's been an amazing run!
