I think your short daily updates work well as it shows the flow of cars in and out for a jobbing dealer. The occasional longer videos suit your repair and resto work. I don't know how you have the patience. I bought a car from a car dealer friend - all I would say is, in my view, that friendship works both ways and I wouldn't have / didn't hit him with problems. He did me a cracking deal, as a friend, and therefore as a friend it's my turn to accept the maintenance and to fix stuff. But that's just my opinion.

A crazy start to the day James , I like the layout of all your own collection of cars looking great , would love the MG, I’m guessing the reason that Phil who sold you the Peugeot had a problem with getting his dads private plate transferred to him is because his father passed away and he would need to prove to the DVLA the car was being left to him as nowadays you can take off a registration off or on a car online yourself in the same day , one of the good things the DVLA have done so easy to do , hopefully you will keep TOPDON as one of your sponsors as they sell quality products , I own several bits of Topdon stuff , plus you get a good discount for your viewers , like the daily KZbin updates even if they are only 10 minutes long , as I’ve said before you are buying some lovely low mileage, lovely condition , full service history from your subscribers best way to go by far , it’s a 👍🏻 up from me

Got to be a very good reason to avoid the Peugeot / Citroen / Vauxhall 1.2 Puretec engine at all cost…literally! But in this instance it’s not a criticism of the contributor’s late father, who to his credit just wanted to keep the vehicle in such an immaculate condition that he felt obliged to have a replacement engine fitted. The criticism should be levelled at the then PSA Group for designing such an unreliable engine!

At today’s prices for cars , the £4k is viable however the PSA group should have taken a chunk off that cost because the car should not need an engine for that mileage and clearly serviced by the dealer / specialists.

I40 was aimed at the fleet market, not maintenance free. Still option to get to know a Toyota dealer for part exes. I’ve just bought 12 year old Yaris Hybrid. 2 “faults” that are easily fixed. One has cost of £1.88 if exclude the postage. Great car. Love it.

Maybe mil light was turbo bud not supplying enough air so it went rich, I don't think the management system is so primitive that it can't control sudden acceleration and throw up a fault, something else is up. If it continues with o2 codes try a genuine Ford sensor, I've done fiestas with non gen ones and light comes back one.

But whatever you do comebacks are a major problem, costs money and time. I'm just doing a megane atm, went out, lent car, doing repair, go back out, it's the injector, now it's what about the others, it's 1100 quid for a set(!)

I drove a full auto 1.2 Citroen C4 Cactus, assuming it's the same engine both being PSA and I found the gearbox really awful at low speeds as it would stay in 2nd to try and pull away but then realising it had no power, bang down into 1st very harshly. Not a well set up box, but lovely on the move. I'd have bought the car if it hadn't been for that but I knew it would annoy!

Because I drive mostly rural lanes, I do a lot of pulling away from slow speeds so I just couldn't risk a car behaving like that. I drove the same test route 4 times and it was the same every time. Don't know what to tell ya!

That Pure Tech 1.2 engine was probably replaced because they are notorious for drinking oil. Its a well known fact in the Motor Trade that this particular engine is weak and troublesome. Heard some traders try and steer clear on buying a vehicle with this engine fitted because of its notoriety and not just wet belt related issues.🤔

New format is definitely better .The Pug SW in its 307 form had the option of seven seats was equally as good on derv but £135 road fund lcence They can be good cars but diagnostics is more difficult or used to be when they did go wrong .Glad you dodged the smoking guns for all the suspected faults .I had an oxygen sensor fault a few weeks ago on the civic I looked at the sensors but they were all new So just cleared the code not lit up again YET

Every day video thing is great bud, I had three complaints on Saturday as well. You handled everything really well, I rarely get complaints 8 mths down the line tho bud. Shows what a bad engine the puretech is, I bet rings had gone and it was chucking petrol into the sump, that's why the level was high, bit of a funny one tho, as a new engine at low miles might put people off. Like me mate, can't afford to be ill, you've got to be there for people to smooth their way thru life...

Could be worse chops. Were just investigating this jag xe with ingenium engine. Pulled out sump plug and magnet is full of metal pieces and the oil is like thick black silicone. Bear in mind 4 month ago this car had £2400 spent at jaguar on servicing. Cant assume anything in the car game.

I had a 308 sw on 15 plate and it was superb on diesal. It was the automatic as well and I loved it but it had the weirdest fault. The driver side tyre would go down every 4 days.... so I thought puncture. Had it checked no puncture. So we changed the valves. 4 days later flat... so we changed the tyre... 4 days later flat. At this point the garage thought someone was taking the p*** and letting it down so they kept it locked in their garage over a BH weekend... after 3 days almost flat. So we changed the alloy.. and... 4 days later we had a flat tyre! I gave up and sold it on motorway😂.

The 308 looks very nice just the engine probably knocks the desirability a bit. My youngest 308 engine looks like it's left the building I reckon despite the GTrim being lovely it's only worth £5k so the cost of a recon engine at £4k isn't great news.
