Probably it wont fail. Eastern devs listen to their playerbase often. People mock gacha games but they deliver quiet good updates. Their games are really good. Every update has QoL changes etc. Look how zzz has changed. Delta force changed a lot too I played the alpha version. And if leaks are true they will add so much more in season 2 as well.

The reason that Battlefield 2042 was a catastrophe is that by the time it went into production, all the devs who were around before Battlefield V had left. DICE is no longer DICE. It is an arm of EA wearing the skin of DICE. They are in the same boat as the current Bioware.

Had the same thought. I would love some large scale modern shooter like BF4 with up to date graphics, but there isn't anything. Blasting 24h operation Locker servers or siege of Shanghai + Goldmud Railway were my best years. The beginning of this video had me hooked, but then i saw specialists? Oh hell no! I don't want it done "right", i don't want it in any way. Or the outrageous Nerf wrist rocked. It's too much. I see a lot of battlefield influence and interesting things, but overall this is not it. As much as i like playing Darktide and Cyberpunk at the moment. I really miss large scale multiplayer shooters.

I am somewhat curious how much of the view and form of operator systems put into these sorts of games now is related to stigmas around them more than their execution. Would developers make it differently and players think differently of it if it was just subclasses or something? A big part of the dislike for operators, heroes, whatever they're called is that they're annoying cosmetically, with a repeating appearance that detracts from the game, sometimes with annoying voicelines, and that they make the game feel like it's trying to be something it shouldn't. I feel like they could rework it into being essentially a special gadget slot and people would be more accepting and it would be developed with a fresh mindset instead of retreading the footsteps of the last half dozen games to do it.

He ain't no Battlefield player. Despite the fact that he has a copy of Bf3 and BC2 he's just a fan of Bf1. The things he mentions in Delta Force are some things that BF4 has done before. There's hardly any skill whatsoever in Bf1. The only reason why it's so popular to this day is because of WW1 aesthetic and easy to pick up gunplay. Like really the Assault class being a very nooby friendly class, a sweet spot mechanic on Recon snipers. Don't even get me started on vehicles especially planes. Vehicles seem getting even more stupider to deal with even in 2042.

In the nicest way possible, the only thing to kill off Battlefield, is Battlefield and look where we are now but I disagree that Delta Force will replace or kill off Battlefield. Delta Force seems to take inspiration from BF, COD and some other games but Delta Force feels like what 2042 should have released as but even then, it's still dull, you play as an operator, with almost hero like abilities etc. Most Battlefield players just want Battlefield without the stupid gimmicks DICE/EA keep trying to add to the franchise and Delta Force also has some of those gimmicks. I just want to play a polished, fun Battlefield game, not this game but I hope this game does well and can life alongside Battlefield to force some competition for the franchise as Battlefield has been too busy following trends rather than sticking to what made Battlefield fun in the first place.
