Hearing the voice actors leaving over the threat of AI is honestly scary. The creative element, the artistry and style, is done by the artist, while the labor, producing it en mass, is automated. I actually just stopped working for a company that makes documentaries for television and we did exactly what you are talking about here. Used a voice actor once and then replicated their voice with ElevenLabs (an AI voice generator) and used it to make more TV docs with a fake name. Of course, none of us editors and directors wanted to do it, but we needed the job. It’s super fucking scummy and disgusting business practice, i purposely got myself let go from the job because they were getting more and more morally (and legally) grey in order to make tv shows. It’s only going to get worse folks. Edit: we did it multiple times as well over the past year. Again, not by choice, but this wasn’t a one thing. That company took multiple voice actors and stole their voice with zero compensation or consent and it’s fucking wrong.

As far as i can tell, the sam ai voice actor is actually a recast and not done by ai. It also looks like some more characters are going to be recast in the future maps as sagaftra vas cant work for activision as that would be considered strike breaking, which is career suicide for them. I actually kind of like the new voice actor more for the sam ai though as the old one didnt really sound like a machine. Hopefully they get the original va back for the real sam in the future though.

Another MASSIVE problem with Black Ops 6 (and other COD titles for the past 5+ years) is the DirectX crashing issue. The game crashes to desktop from the menu or in-game, rendering it completely unplayable. Many can't play at all, or more than 20 minutes, without the game crashing. Activision refuses to acknowledge the issue, they funnel you through nonsense in their support tickets, ghost you, or just instantly close your ticket. They do not respond on social media, to emails, and they have no support number. They have no interest in fixing the problem unless they see pushback on it. With all that's wrong with this game, paying $70+ and not being able to play it at all is definitely something that should be highlighted. I have tried to spread word about the problem, but I only have so much reach. Maybe large content creators can take this somewhere.

For context, the issue is from faulty GPU memory allocation to DirectX 12. A lot of people have suggested solutions online, but none of them actually work because it's a problem with the game engine. The game thinks the GPU ran out of memory even though the system (and game) have plenty available. VRAM scale doesn't help, setting changes don't help. The GPU crash log even states there is no memory deficit at the time of crash. External monitoring software even knows that the game doesn't run out of memory. The true cause of the issue is unknown, people with the newest hardware to older hardware, AMD, Intel, NVIDIA all experience this problem in some capacity. Not sure where to go from here.

It's too late to tell you this now, but for future reference: If you go down, but close the game before you hit the end screen, Black Ops 6 will create a temporary save that will start from the beginning of the round that you HAVE to play when you get back on the game. Alt-F4 works on PC, and powering off/force closing the game works on console.

This is another "horse armor" moment, but we benefit from seeing the ramifications of supporting this AI nonsense. This one is gonna require a size backlash against Activision/Microsoft to get them to even so much a reel back AI usage. I've completely uninstalled all my cod games. If Activision can't respect talent then it doesn't deserve my money nor to time.

I understand what your saying but people will never boycott cod. I see something like this every year where people say “im not going to buy it and support this” and I’m glad you think that. But there are way too many casuals who only buy like 3 games a year and don’t really care much about games. Also uninstalling all your games literally doesn’t affect anything cuz you already bought them
