Sweet Dreams by Patsy Cline is a great song & really shows off her vocals. She’s inspired generations of country singers. When she hits you with those slow songs, she takes you on a journey. So emotional, so raw. Utterly amazing.

Once again Patsy proves why she was the original Queen of country music in my opinion. She also helped Loretta Lynn get into the business

Patsy Cline was friends worth Patsy Cline. Loretta Lynn was discovered and exploited by the Wilburn Brothers. Who had a publishing company, and a syndicated country music tv show. She ended up taking them to court to get out of an exploitive contract. They were still in litigation when Coal Miners daughter was made. There was also animosity over royalties', from what I understand.

My parents took me to an old church in Nashville Tn. when I was 8 years old. We sat pretty near the stage and saw quite a few acts. Then this lady came out and began to sing. She looked down from the stage straight into my eyes and I thought I had met an Angel. It's 61 years since that night and I still believe I met an Angel.

Patsy Cline September 8, 1932 - March 5, 1963) was an American singer. She is considered one of the most influential vocalists of the 20th century and was one of the first country music artists to cross over into pop music. Cline died in a plane crash near Camden, Tennessee, in 1963, and became a musical icon in the decades following her death. In 1973 she became the first solo woman performer to be elected to the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville, Tennessee. Patsy Cline was just 30 years old.

Your reaction is spot on. Amidst many exceptional singers over the century of recorded music, a small handful stand out above the rest because their talent is on such a level that you almost have to stop what you are doing when you hear them, as a sense of awe comes over you… you suddenly KNOW what you are hearing is “different.” It is sublime. It is beautiful. It is… perfection. Patsy Cline is such a singer. Her rich tone, variation, and interpretation are beyond words. What a gift she had and shared with the world. Thank God she was recorded so we can all still marvel at this, as she tugs at us and makes us feel in-the-moment with her all these many decades later!

Tasha, Patsy Cline can sing anything! Her voice goes anywhere she wants it to go in a song. But yes, her heartbreak songs are the best. If this song is breaking your heart, l can't wait to see you listen to "FADED LOVE". By the time Patsy gets to the ending, you not only feel the crying in her voice, you are hearing it because she is really crying. Patsy lived her songs. Wish there was a live tv performance of her singing Faded Love. She died before she had a chance to. If l had a time machine, the 1st four things l would do is.... Go to a live concert of Patsy Cline, Doris Day & Judy Garland. And then sit down & talk to Donna Fargo about the songs she's written & sang. If you want to see Patsy get down/excited with a song, listen to her live version of "Blue Moon of Kentucky" The more the audience gets into the song, the more Patsy belts it out! There are many songs of her to listen to. I would love to sit down with the Legends of Country Music & listen to them talk about Patsy. Like Loretta Lynn, Brenda Lee, Bill Anderson, Willie Nelson. That would be awesome. I'm sorry, l'm talking your ear off. So l better shut up & leave you alone. God Bless & have a wonderful day.
