tl:dr; recommended rolls: 1: arc conductor + wave(/caster) frame 2: wolfpack + lightweight(/wave) frame 3: perfect fifth + caster(/wave) frame 4: unplanned reprieve + lightweight(/vortex/wave) frame notes: - wave frame only best if solo - recharge does not matter if transcendent, so enduring guard is best - grenade damage can proc blade stamina artifact mod - for dps, always be transcendence! - for dps, always use 1H2L swings

Arc conductor you should absolutely use a lightweight frame. It’s not for boss DPS, and there is no reason at all to use more ammo than necessary to proc conductor.

I think the utility of the Caster Polaris is amazing as well, I use it for prismatic stronghold Titan and I can use it to proc bait and switch rockets on ranged bosses like Hefnd. It’s got so many positives going for it for everything outside of sword damage against melee bosses

Isn't there a similar quirk on Crota where trying to hit him with multiple Relic Sword Supers (which shoot a Wave) at once won't count more than one Wave at a time? Probably a similar issue as what's happening with Wave Swords.

17:38 I'm guessing it's a similiar situation to one that exists in Terraria with piercing projectiles, where the enemy is given a small amount of i-frames to prevent the projectile from doing damage on every frame. Pretty unfortunate if that's the case. I think Bungie has had similar issues in the past with Wish-Ender.

edit: i was asking to see if how good my raid sword would be compared to what I’ve already been doing for that boss (wave wolf then swapping to guilly for light spam). I got to the bad news of the video and while I’m still not sure if my actual question got answered I’ll take a consolation prize in knowing I’m the only person in my regular raid groups that has wave frames to use 😁 i'm only 6 minutes into the video so if you've answered this later into the video than i've seen my bad (i thought it i didn't leave a comment now i'd forget later haha) but on things like the spreadsheet and a few instances in your video it seems like legendary wave frames are king for dps (among legendary swords). i'm assuming a majority of the data backing up that claim comes from testing against riven, and i can see that the tracking for the wave heavy seems to setup for the follow-up midair light to be quite low allowing for the player to get on the floor quicker and resume dps. my question is, on bosses where the tracking isn't so generous and you go a lot higher (namely finality), how much does this affect dps?

You’d lose the huge damage buff from transcendent duelist though, which probably kills it outside prismatic.

His swap tab has a caster+perfect fifth+ember of ashes in it. Swap dps is about 160k which isn't very notable. Ember of ashes allows you to ignite in 1 heavy attack so it is probably preferred option for swap dps, but Transcendent Duelist is such a large buff to the weapon.

wait, this is the same thing that happens to the hive sword's super attack in crota's encounter. with lfg strats, if a team goes to make crota kneel and the two swords go in at the same time with super only one will hit with the whole super and the other will hit with a small portion. makes sense now that I think about it. a waveframe gl only hits once so it must be using the crota sword's code. cool find! you know, I wonder do 6 heavy wave frame gl's, if a ft all dump a mag, does the game track all of them? are wave frame gl's and swords related at all?

I don't have a friend with the heavy wave gl to test. But, testing with a friend with a forbearance had the exact same issues as wave swords. Seems like the game has hard coded issues with every wave.

Since the whole wave is an active hitbox for wave frames, could it just be that bosses go on cooldown after being hit by it to prevent them from being hit by every frame of a wave? Seems like it could've been an oversight that bungie wouldn't pick up on because nobody was spamming wave frame GLs at enemies like we are with summum.
