I can't believe I'm commenting on corn dogs, but here I go. The best corn dogs are freshly made from a high quality hot dog on a stick, dipped in the fresh made batter, then deep fried. Where I live you can only get that corn dog at a county or state fair, a food fair, or at travelling carnivals that are set up for three to five days then leave for their next destinations. The corn dogs you had looked like the frozen ones you can get at any grocery store across the USA. They are really considered convenient kid's food, kids like them, but really they are considered mediocre compared to the real thing. At the Washington State Fair in Puyallup (pronounced pyoo-al-up) Washington, they have Krusty Pups, which have a rice based coating, you can watch them being made in front of you, are really good. Don't give up on corn dogs just because of a bad first experience!
