This video is brilliant Gary. Thank you so much. I did know that it is important nott to pot on into too large a pot, but I thought it was because you run the rsk of overwatering where there is too much compost around the roots taking on too much water. I never realised that it's because it makes the roots 'lazy'and stops the development of a strong root system. Thank you. I hadn't realised it was time to sow Swiss Chard as they don't appear on your grow guide. I have sown all the other vegetables that you have listed for sowing in January and all are doing very well, ( Broccoli, Cauli, Leeks, Lettuce, Onions, and pak choi, Aubergines and Peppers. I will sow cucumbers and melons at the end of the month, and Tomatoes and cucumbers next month, when I usually sow them. Thank you so much for the growing guide. It acts as a great reminder. I will get my chard sown now.

Thanks for explaining why you don’t put seedlings in large pots. Sorry if it’s a stupid question but why do you water them low down? I didn’t think it would matter as long as it’s a gentle shower, I use a milk bottle too after watching your videos x

Thank you very much for your comment Lucy which is greatly appreciated. I always water as low as possible to firstly ensure that the water gets directly into the compost and to lower the pressure of the water into the compost. Kind regards. Gary

Thank you so much. I've been wondering what im going to do with the seedlings! Is there a reason you didn't just start your seeds in cells?

Thank you for your comment. I do start some seeds in cells however it depends on the time of the year and what I’m growing. In the warmer months I tend to start what I can directly outside. Kind regards. Gary
