They were doing that at first, they gave cool insight to behind the scenes stuff regarding that particular episode. Fun fact, Heavens Gate wore Nike Decades because they were available to buy in bulk at the time so were cheaper not for anything to do with said "voyage", which is absurdly ironic as once the "transition" occurred, they became one of the more expensive Nike's to purchase as they were immediately discontinued by Nike

This feels like the best podcast that you've done in a long while. I've enjoyed all the episodes don't get me wrong, but this one really got to the heart of what drew me into the podcast from the start. I love the conversations that come from a lack of structure, like how talking about some element of the show ended up on this long deep tangent about their response to criticism and some of their other shows. It often feels like lately the podcast has sped jokes along in an effort to keep things entertaining which is fun, but these kinds of conversations are deeply entertaining too because the three of you naturally have such a funny dynamic. Long, natural conversations are what really set podcasts apart from other mediums in my opinion, so having less 'segments' and cuts is a really welcome change!
@AdamKeele2 жыл бұрын
100% When they started to change things up to seemingly keep it interesting, I don’t think they realized why it’s so enjoyable to most of us is that we like the feeling of spontaneous conversations between everyone involved. We get the structure from the show, and in the podcast we want the unrestricted, natural versions of everyone. Plus, I didn’t like it as much when they watched live and reacted as much as them just watching it the night before. There were certainly good moments, but it felt different. I guess there’s just something to when they watch it again in their own personal bubbles, stew on it for however long they do, then collectively come together to talk about it-sounds more natural and we seem to see the best commentary and tangents from them. For instance, if they had watched this one live, I don’t think we would have gotten that great tangent of cults and religion, then ghosts. The part about the lack of ghosts in culture from other animals is such a brilliant observation and ties SO well to religion. I know some don’t want to hear that, but it helps show the hypocrisy and simple oversight when people create these religions and cults over the millennia.

There is a HUGE difference between mocking people and mocking situations or even mocking people who discriminate. Cause the joke there is not the guy whether he has a condition or not. It's how people react to that. I have never felt this episode disrespects anyone but Dee. Haha.

Something I think makes this show great that these podcasts have brought to light is the fact the writers have different tastes and ideas for the show. Each person is pulling in a different direction, but instead of a tug of war, they've taken that force and leveraged it to elevate the show rather than pull it in any one direction.

This episode is one of my all time favorite! When hanging out with buddies that haven't watched the show (for x or y reason) I either play "The gang exploits a miracle" or this one. Charlie improvising "Nightman" is probably one most legendary, respectable actings ever. Rob breaking character around Charlie's acting throughout the show is ridiculously hilarious to me.
