I was an RN over 30 years in Maryland and California. No nursing unit I ever worked in ever used race correction with incentive spirometer results and lung function Never witnessed use race biased algorithms in nursing practice. Never learned or heard about it in nursing school either. I think it’s more a bias of health insurance companies used to allocate how much care they will pay for. The researchers who created race correction are in positions that are not in direct patient care.
