If you wondered why the plane bomb doesn’t usually work is because of the hitboxes, some bosses are in the background and can’t damage you if you touch them but others can. Edit: this comment is somehow still alive after an entire year

For Esther’s Cactus thing: you can avoid the cactus by double jumping, doing crackshot EX, parry it, then double jump again (the jump cooldown resets when you parry it.)

As far as I understand (I may be completely wrong), the megabomb ONLY detonates when it hits a damaging hitbox (something that normally does damage to you if you bump into it). This is fine for all the actual plane levels because the plane bosses' hitboxes are all damaging. If you fly into any of them while not in megabomb form, you take damage. However, plenty of the normal bosses have hitboxes that don't hurt you if you are on top of them. A good way to test this is if you tried the megabomb against Goopy. Since his whole body is a damaging hitbox, the megabomb should work perfectly against him if I'm right. Of course, that's just a theory.
