I re-watched all of Darwin’s goals for benfica. It’s clear he loves to score tap ins. His powerful running and clever movement means he can more often than not be in a good position to finish. I think he has improved technically since coming to Liverpool and has the potential for more big seasons providing we play to his strengths. Luckily I think Slot loves a cut back too and it might just be a perfect match.

Hi lads, Great show. BTW Kelleher´s Dad ( whio got a mention earlier) died a good few years ago. He was from Dunmanway in west Cork and I played underage GAA against him, he was a very good player. I would love to keep him because i do worry about Allison next year. I have been a fan since 1971 when I saw Stevie Heighway flying down the wing. Now I live here in the Basque corner of the world , where on one side of me i have Xabi Alonso´s family and Mikel Arteta´s mother lives just up the road. Keep up the good work.

I think the majority of Liverpool fans are fine giving Nunez another season under Slot and if he improves his numbers, that would be fantastic. If he regresses or remains the same, then serious questions needs to be asked and they should explore a sale, even at a loss.

Been saying this all over the place, because it's amazing how many of the prominent Liverpool fan channels states there's no available DM's out there so: Exequiel Palacios (Leverkusen), Anton Stach (Hoffenheim), Morten Frendrup (Genoa), Ederson (Atalanta), Johnny (Real Betis), Floretino Luis (Benfica), Alan Varela (Porto), Weiffer (Feyernoord), Nico Gonzalez (Porto), Youssouf Fofana (Monaco), Joey Veerman (PSV), Jerdy Schouten (PSV)... Just a few CM/CDM's out there across Europe that has had a good/great season this season gone. "If there is a Rodri out there of course you go and buy him if you can!", well Rodri wasn't the Rodri we now see playing for City when he first arrived, Fabinho wasn't the Fabinho we loved from the first minute he walked thru the door. More often than not, you need to get the next big thing before they're the finished article. I really struggle too get why that seem to be so hard acknowlegde amongst the fan base?! Also, I'm getting a bit tired of this "make do attitude" that seems too be semented around within our fanbase. "we already got such a great squad, not sure we need to do that much in the market", or along those lines. Ok, that's fine, but then that needs to be combined with a realistic view on what we actually can achieve. "We're sound, we don't need much more, we don't spend that much money, we'll have too make do with what we got", but the next minute "We have to go for absolutely everything this season". What is it, it's not realistic spending less than clubs who normally ends up around mid table most season (over the last 5-10 years), and still expect we're going to "over achieve" constantly. At some point one of two things need to be the case, either we compete on all levels and behave like other big clubs. Buy the players we need, in the positions they're needed. Or if we keep limping on with players that's either injury prone and out half the season every season, or players that's never been good enough. We have too concede we'll be up and down, and not a consistent challenger in the long term. Just my opinion.

We had 100 more shots than any other team, we hit the woodwork more than any other team, by quite a big distance again. The highest xG and the highest xG from open play. I would say that’s a pretty good attack. Can we improve? Of course. But we shouldn’t downplay the level we are at just because you don’t like a player or because we didn’t win in the end. We were in the title race and at one point favourites, then the wheels fell off.

@@ralf-5 I can say for me I have nothing against Darwin as a human being, but I am a Liverpool fan, not necessary a player fan, and I think for playing in attack for LFC one needs to be more clinical, but let him have a chance under Slot and hope for the best. By the way I find it a bit peculiar that we as fans are not allowed to criticize our players, of course we should be critical, they get crazy money and it has never been as expensive to be a fan of football as it is today, been following LFC for 40 plus years and seen nearly all games on tv the last 20 years and I am seriously considering unsubscribing to everything football related as it has become far too expensive to watch, also the wages that the players, managers get is sickening when one thinks about how many households can not get ends to meet.

This is an indisputably true statement. Yes, more of that D work happened around midfield and in the opponent's half, but it was all still tracking back. The fact the turn overs happened closer to the opponents net is, in fact, better. that's the whole point of a guergenpress system.

I love Nunez but It’s those huge games where he needs to finish his chances. The easier games on paper we’ll create plenty of chances with less pressure on him but the big games the conversion rate needs to improve. Even his first touch or decision making at times needs to be even slicker in those tight games, that’s where massive frustration kicks in, have to be on it playing for this club. We needed him at the end of last season but I guess that was the same for all the forwards but he’s our no.9, Salah won’t always get us out of jail and unfortunately Jota is injury prone and Diaz is similar where he isn’t the biggest goal threat so we need Darwin to kick on, I believe he can.

Ornstein is ultra reliable but, at the same time, you do wonder whether that influences some of the statements he makes. Like the ultra positive stuff on Hughes. Is that a realisation from the club that he is getting stick in the fanbase and so in return for getting exclusives, Ornstein puts out some positive PR? Arguably, if Edwards is the one briefing Ornstein that is actually quite positive imo as he was one hell of a sporting director so if he is rating what he has been doing then I am cool with it. Personally. I thought what Ornstein said about Zubimendi was about defending the club than providing anything new anyway. If they make out that they may still do a deal then it sounds better than saying that they loved a player but they couldn't get it over the line and didn't have a backup. Similarly with Romano, he was talking about us thinking the guy is perfect, not was perfect. Overall I think the club maybe putting it out there that they may still do a deal to avoid criticism for not getting one done. Joyce's article when the deal fell through was quite revealing though as he very.much made it sound like the lad wanted to.come here but as the local boy was put in a very difficult position by his club. Interestingly, while Joyce said a new contract would be signed, it actually sounded like it would be done a little under duress. Personally, I wonder if his agent has told us to hang in there. At the time there were reports his management were telling him he should move and cynically they may not be too happy they lost out on a commission. If the agent was also the one giving LFC encouragement (and they have other clients) they probably also don't appreciate that their credibility got hit because of Real Sociedad. In other words, they are probably not going to be keen to do any sort of deal with Real.Sociedad and if they can show the club aren't pulling out all the stops to give Zubimendi the deal he was promised, Zubimendi has got the justification to move on in January and Cite the club letting him down. That may remove the backlash he is worried about.

I’d sell Nunez this summer tbh as I don’t see him getting any better. Mentally he’ll never have what it takes for LFC, the pressure is too much for him. There’s a genuine market for him now as well so recouping close to the 85m is easier this year. One more bad year and we ain’t getting 50m. Big risk imo so we should sell. Have seen enough of Nunez first hand, can't hold the ball up very well and bottles when through on goal. Just as bad was him getting triggered and removing all his LFC photos from his SM pages. I would sell definitely. Would keep Kelleher as Alisson always picks up injuries, and not convinced he will stay here long term. Trent needs to stay at right back but needs cover like when we had Gini. Not confident about next season at all. Too many question marks in all positions, who partners Virgil? What to do with Trent? Nunez keep or sell ? Is Mo past his best? And a manager I have bad vibes about. At least going in with low expectations means I could be pleasantly surprised 🤔

I think he also struggled with the price tag because that naturally came with scrutiny, and opposing fans love to slag off other teams players, the Twitter lot… so if he misses people act like he’s the worst player ever, he obviously reads too much and needs to stop that really, it’ll never help.

I really think Darwin hasn't quite settled at Liverpool yet , reminds me of Naby Keita when Jürgen told Naby to learn English when we bought him in the January window while he was still Leipzig player , Naby comes in that summer hasn't learnt a word of English Jürgen goes ballistic on Naby and the club told him to go on an intensive English course Naby never really settled there could be same comparison where Darwin's confidence isn't that of man who feels entirely settled like he is when he plays for Uruguay, once he settles an telling you right now he will be banging them in for fun that along with new manager who has confidence in him and probably clear instructions that don't mash his head at times like Jürgen did playing him in every position up top , maybe a Steve Pieters top sports psychologist could work on Darwin to clear any negative thoughts feel totally relaxed & comfortable...

Nunez is an embodiment of why Liverpool are not in the same class as Real Marid. If Nunez had moved to Madrid two years ago and played as poorly for RM as he did for Liverpool after two seasons he'd be out of Madrid. They don't persist with someone who's not up to the mark. Cut your loses and move on with someone else. Instead here the hope is with a new manager he might have a second chance. Face it, he's just not up to the PL at Liverpool.
