LAST ANTIQUE VINTAGE Meet | THRIFTING FINDS | Shop with a RESELLER
Wow, this is way more than a flea market! Shop with me at the last Tri-State Antique Market of the year, where dealers anxious to let go of vintage and antique goodies are making deals we can flip for a profit!
We grabbed cool antiques, vintage and costume jewelry on our first round of shopping that we're going back for more! Now we get to shop the back half and covered pavilions of this huge antique shopping event, where fun small vintage and unusual home decor items are the order of the day...along with furniture, statuary (that frog is too cool!) and a uniquely fashioned child's sled stroller all catch our eye. Which did we take to sell in our upcoming Florida shows this winter?
We discover what diamond registry marks on ironstone tell us, see a bench that connects with Johnny Bench, and find a bunch of vibrant Italian silk throws that should sell in the sunny south! Coming to the last show of the season really pays off for those of us who have other places to sell our antiques & vintage wares, and I sure am glad to be playing my hunch about that!
Here's more of that we see in round two of our trip through the pre-hibernation flea market up north:
Bottles, linoleum top bench, 60s modern ottoman, English and American ironstone leaf trays, French Saxon dinnerware set, Miami cast iron cookware, Griswold & Ironstone, 1970s Tupperware, galvanized roost, 1960s screenprint state glasses, Automatic Electric Starlite phone, Stromberg-Carlson phone, Favorite and Martin cast iron, graduated Griswold skillet set, Roseville Peony console bowl, croquet set, Fenton baskets and fairy lamps, Czech glass 1930s splatter glass vase, 1930s uranium green depression glass, Flying Dutchman horse race sculpture, G.A.R. Encampment photo, 1955 Perfect Game Yankees vs Dodgers plate, cast iron elephant cigarette dispenser, 1950s Dragonware box, latex glove mold hands, 1950s Planet Patrol flags, piano shawls, chalkware bagpiper, Wild Bill Hickok spelter figure, 1890s angle lamp, 1950s frizelle chair,
1930s enamel stove, Seaboard Coast Line Silver Star railroad depot signs, 1950s loom, drip glaze shell TV lamp, 1970s cork lamp, 1970s orange suitcases, 1930s riding horse, Greek Orthodox crucifix embroidery, Arts-& Crafts vintage 1910 desk and chair, 1890s pickled bamboo shelf, 1910s Mission style bookstand, Lindbergh 1920s aviator bookends, 1930s dental cabinet, 1930s English art deco mirror, Loetz type vase, Avery brass 1890s scale, 1920s flapper cigarette ad, 1890s plateau mirrors, Remco Steam Car remote controlled 1960s car, Fehr's Beer 1950s cooler, 1940s enameled shuffleboard sign, kitchen queen, 1880s marble top chest of drawers, Roseville snowberry bookends, Haeger Earth Wrap vase, PM Sevres vase, 1950s flamingoes, Royal Gouda handled bowl, circa 1900 ruby flash souvenir pieces, 1930s uranium green tire ashtray, cooper's handle, etc.

When we were first married we ran a farm and lived in a very old house. Almost all the floors were done in Linoleum. Thing is they were like oriental rugs in their patterns and in good shape. I loved them. This was almost 50 years ago. Canada. 🍁 Super show George!

While working in Texas @ a Pediatric clinic, we had several children come in with elevated lead levels. The Health Department investigated and found a fruit and vegetable stand using plastic bags printed in Mexico. The red ink used on the bags was the culprit. So, it’s not only dishes you have to be careful with. I really enjoyed this trip to the market. Some very interesting and unique items. Thank you George for taking us along ‼️

Loved the nylon frieze chair. Growing up, that was the kind of upholstery everyone in the neighborhood had. Around 1990, I got my great aunt’s sofa and chair set - unless you have pets, that furniture lasted forever! (It did go to the basement, though 😂) Unlike today, where furniture looks old after just a couple years.

Good evening, George! I could've used that galvanised hen nesting box, when we lived in the country, I had a lot of chickens and we never had to buy eggs. I had to build hen nests for mine. I've always wanted an old, all-wood croquet set, but there's just no space for one here. There was what looked like a Warwick tankard, on the table where the bagpiper figure was. That really caught my eye. Loved the angle lamp...me and my thing for antique oil lamps🙃😂 That pickled bamboo almost made me flip! I love that stuff! That scale was fantastic. It would look really good as a centerpiece on a dining table. There were a ton of interesting items there! I'd enjoy shopping a place like that, for sure! Thanks for the take-along!!!
@TheAntiqueNomad
@TheAntiqueNomad 2 жыл бұрын
You are catching the Warwick in my videos, I am starting to notice it because it's one of those true antique items collectors overlook! I didn't realize hens would roost together, apparently that is a rather large roost. The angle lamp would've gone home with me if he could've told me the source of the shades with more certainty! I also love pickled bamboo, and the scale was the best I've seen in ages. I can't wait for them to reopen in Spring!

@@TheAntiqueNomad I like most of the colour schemes of Warwick, especially the browns and tans, so it tends to draw my attention. Well, that was actually a nesting box where they would lay eggs. They don't actually roost in those most of the time. They do roost together, though. I'd love to see one of the angle lamps with the globes on it. I've never seen one of those. That old bamboo is actually a lot stronger than it looks. I used to have a corner chair in it, and it was very sturdy...wish I still had it. Had that scale been restored? That thing was fantastic!

Thank you George. I'm always surprised by the inexpensive furniture. In the PNW I feel as though it would be 50-100% higher priced. One thing to be said about the uncomfortable upholstery, it wore like iron. I'm looking for a piece of Roseville. I have a pedestal, the jardiniere was a tragic victim of my now 35 year old nephew. My mom eventually forgave his parents, LOL.

George, When did the “fairy lamps” come out? Seems like they were made for little votive candles, which I thought weren’t made until the 70’s. But I might have dreamed that… I like the Italian tapestries.
@TheAntiqueNomad
@TheAntiqueNomad 2 жыл бұрын
Actually, the Victorians in England came up with them because they used them as nightlights in their windows...a famous firm named Clarke's made the originals. People made their own candles then so they could shape to fit
