Battle of Asal Uttar is taught in military schools worldwide because of how the terrain was used against tanks. The Indian side was outnumbered but they breached a local canal during night and flooded the sugar fields where the battle was taking place. Then lured the Pakistani tanks into pushing the Indian side but they got slowed by the flooding and got encircled.

Fun facts :- 1. During the peace conference in tashkent USSR the Indian prime minister died mysteriously . 2. during this time, the Indian Prime Minister from tashkent , USSR signed the documents of permission for beginning of nuclear programme of India . Subsequently, India will move nuclear bombs, but will never test them until much later . 3. During this time, the CIA got its biggest most important lead on the Indian nuclear project by hearing the conversations between the Indian prime minister and the people sitting at Indian nuclear ☢️ facility , which later compelled them to kill the head of Indian nuclear department Sir Homi Daba by bombing his plane . 4. The 3rd point’s legitimacy can be checked by the book, written by CIA head of Asian division where he wrote in his book of how CIA was involved in the murder of Indian scientist .

Operation grand slam would be successful. My father told me that General Akhtar Hussain Malik was about to take Srinagar. But Ayub Khan replaced him with his favourite Yahya Khan. And that change in command led to a delay which was able to let India bring reinforcements. Pakistan waged battle in disputed territories. India attacked an internationally recognized border. It was a failure of Pakistan to even realize that India goes to full lengths to defend itself. They made this mistake in Kargil too where they sent a very small group of soldiers and India sent a whole battalion lol.

1:39 - 2:00 correct me if i'm wrong, but the kashmiri king did not accede to india like that. pakistan and india had a standstill agreement, as the king wanted to stay indepedent. upon the violation of the agreement by pakistan, the king ran to india for help, who then twisted his hand into accession with india. "pakistan responded to the accession by invading" would be the wrong order of events here. just a correction i'd like to point out, loved the video!

Some Pakistanis still say the results were ambiguous, and that they still "faught off" Indians(yeah that's what they could basically despite having like all modern tanks, aircrafts, technologies, training etc. backed by US) who came in WW2 tanks. But in the following wars, Pakistan stood no chance. 1971, India cut off half of Pakistan, what an embrassment. 93000 troops surrendered. And later too in Kargil War, Pakistan was heavily criticised by International community and India decisively won that.

It doesn't matter if it was illegally occupied or was part of India it's still an invasion in a civil war two sides invade eachother regions which support them even when they aren't split into two countries and in this case it was a colonial power refusing to give up it's colony to what now should've been the rightful owner of the territory it's an invasion and (it was not part India at the time since Portugal occupied it for over 400 years before the Indian state and took it from a sultanate in the region which means it can't be liberation since they aren't making Goa into a new country they want to annex it)

@@beatricemuvengwi are u dumb somehow goa was part of BHARAT and it came under the maratha rule which then later became india between the time of marathas and colonial india becoming india the portugese occupied it so yeah goa was a part of india they simply made it a colony and we took back what was ours rightfully and hence it wouldnt be called an invasion

I remember reading an article on this war. Specifically the air campaign. The Pakistanis, knowing that they could never match India in terms of the number of planes and pilots, opted to put heavy resources into producing a core of highly trained pilots. And they did a fair job of holding their own against the much larger Indian airforce.

Pakistan is lucky to have honest and selfless military people who love the country. They have safely invested Pakistani money in Papa John's pizza franchise and real estate in London, Canada, and Dubai. They have also bought an island near Australia. These investments have made sure that Pakistani people don't waste their money on luxury items such as wheat flour, vegetables, electricity, clothing, and education.

Indian Lt Gen Harbakhsh Singh’s book on 1965 war quotes the following: "On September 6, XI Corps launched a surprise attack at 4am, led to the crossing of the Ichhogil canal and the capture of the Bata shoe factory on the outskirts of Lahore by 11am. But the senior commanders could not cope with the situation and ordered a withdrawal to the east bank of the canal [BRB Canal] by that evening". Congress Leader Capt Amarinder Singh: “India almost lost Amritsar in 1965 war” Fifty years after the 1965 Indo-Pak war, deputy leader of Congress in the Lok Sabha, Captain Amarinder Singh, has shed new light on an order allegedly given by the then Army Chief to withdraw Indian Army troops in Punjab, which could have led to the surrender of Amritsar.

The 1965 war may have been useless for both India and Pakistan since they were still back to square 1 with no side gaining anything but I see it as a win for Bangladesh. It was the Bengali troops of the famous East Bengal Regiment that saved Pakistan in Lahore and Sialkot which led General Yahya Khan the army chief of Pakistan increase the number of battalions in that regiment. These additional troops were vital to build up the Bangladesh Forces during the Liberation war of 1971.
