Man... You really pulled out all the stops on this one. Full blown cherry-picking cope. I mean, yeah, sure, if you ignore all the men Kiev lost, and all the money and irreplaceable hardware the West has thrown away, and all of the territorial gains that have been negated by Russian advances in the past 3 months, sure, yeah, Ukraine is "still hanging on." Not to mention the sanction wars that have all backfired on the West. Meanwhile, the Russo-Chinese economic alliance is dethroning America all across the globe. But yeah, whatever. 🥴

Got to say Armchair historian is very Biased IN THIS VIDEO. Talks about how far right members are fighting in Donetsk military, MEANWHILE Barely MENTION OF AZOV BATTLION, Well known to be anti semitic far right battalion. Amnesty International put a statement out that UKRAINE used civilians as SHIELDS. I also thinks it’s hilarious that he has Ukraine attacking around Mariupol, while it shows Russia directly attacking apartment buildings is so propaganda, cause Ukraine also attacks civilians and example would be the bridge connects Crimea. Ukraine killed three civilians while trying to destroy the bridge. Meanwhile Russia has already rebuilt 65 percent of Mariupol and Men living there, don’t have to worry about being drafted in the meat grinder.

I think drone war is one of the worst addition to warfare. War is war but watching a soldier trying to run for his life get blown to pieces by a drone, or two soldiers in pitch darkness on watch when one informs the other to retreat unaware that a drone just dropped and set a bomb trap in between them is just sad to watch.

While I agree with you, people were saying the same thing when tanks, planes, machine guns, barbed wire, bolt action rifles, white gunpowder, assault rifles, dynamite, camouflage, trench digging and other advanced ordinances were introduced to the battlefield
@shawnmiller3943
@shawnmiller3943 Ай бұрын
I agree with you that drone warfare in itself is a bad addition as it turns the war into more of a game and limits the risks involved the the operator. But in causality drone warfare is cheap, easy, and reduces the risks to the user. It gives many more options and gains to the side that uses them unlike the wars of old that didn't have drones. Drones are the future that will be used in any conflict in our era and beyond there is no turning back. An we all know these very drones will be used on not only soldiers but on the very citizens of their own country in time. Any tool of war that's cheap, easy to use and can cause great effect will be highly sought after and used. What we see today is the infant stage of drone warfare, what comes later will be far more terrifying as more weapons are integrated for use on drones, AI is added and drone designs become more lethal though options and load outs.
@bestieswithtesties
@bestieswithtesties Ай бұрын
How is a drone any different than someone getting shot by a sniper? Or an artillery shell hitting them? All kinds of things can happen when someone is running away or chilling on watch. Explosions and bullets are explosions and bullets dude drones are not that special. They're just annoying. The only thing that drones have really changed is that tanks are not as effective and everybody sees everything you can't really hide movements from the enemy. Other than that dying is dying you make it sound like dying to a drone is any different than anything else. It's not.
@shawnmiller3943
@shawnmiller3943 Ай бұрын
@@bestieswithtesties Sniper puts himself in danger by being on the field of battle with in range of the enemy to strike back at them if they see them or notice their location. They can be dealt with directly and quickly. Artillery is on the battle field with in X range. New tech can detect, track and locate and counter fire which makes artillery risky as a sniper. All things can happen to those that retreat and do not surrender you are fair game to be dealt with by any means necessary thats the fact of war. But in most wars expect those fought by russia and some 2ed and e3rd world countries. As a modern country they respect and accept surrendering combatants and follow the international laws that all countries should follow in war. Again not all countries do follow those rules those tend to be 2ed world and third world countries and warlords. But what makes drones different. You are not actively in danger while operating and can be hundreds to thousands of miles behind the lines. Making it harder to track and eliminate the operator more so if they are mobile. Using said tech makes it feel like a vid game in how it operates an descentizes your thought process that you actually killed someone(s) and the reality check that you pulled the trigger on someones life. As the whole process seams unreal compared to seeing your results right in front of you while fighting on the line. Lastly drones will become a cost effective norm over time in price, man power, efficiency and many advantages you normally don't have on foot and easily accessible. As our tech grows and advances less human interaction will be needed and drones are just the step in the right direction to use AI and simpler algorithms to do the same job as a well trained solider. It costs thousands to millions to train a solider fully and a min of 4 years for a skilled combatant. But a child of the age of 7yr old or older and less then 2-8 hrs of training can fly a drone and think it was a video game. We already have 3-4yr olds operating their parents tablets and cell phones to watch kid shows online. How hard do you think it would be for young children to get hooked on a cool flying sim you can crash your plane into things. Side note: The real horror hasn't started yet with drones. We will soon see commercial drones being modified and being equipped with explosives and used for terrorist acts while being mobile and very hard to catch and locate due to mobility. Currently there are no countermeasures set up to defend against this. Unless something was set up in advance and even then the current tech isn't readily available. The world is seeing how effective drones are in Ukraine its just a matter of time before those idea's are used by bad actors only wanting chaos.

Agreed. Russia's strategy the whole time has been to wait for the West to get bored of Ukraine and move onto something else, which it has done. All of Ukraine's effort had to be forced into proving tangible gains to keep attention on them, and stop the Republican narrative that America is just getting involved in another unwinnable war - hence the ridiculous clickbaiting of their entire counteroffensive for months beforehand. Of course, arguably, even success in Zaporizhzhia would not have swayed the West to take Ukraine more seriously. Russia is still doubling down and further gearing up their economy for a long war, and Trump is determined not to allow Biden to claim any foreign or domestic policy successes over his term to boost his own chances of re-election - as everyone can see from the Republicans consistently blocking Ukraine aid, and even increased spending countering illegal immigration. Idk what this year is going to bring, but I imagine the West pressuring Ukraine to accept a ceasefire - and we all know how well Russia accepts internationally brokered ceasefires (Minsk II ahem ahem)...

And WW2 was what changed things, have WW2 not happen the effect of the winter war would have been just a russian humiliation and forcing finland to join the tripartite pact. So if the Ukranian war is going to mirror the winter war then expect russia ro settle for the Donbass and perhaps crimea after being humilliated and then Ukraine entering NATO. But I suppose they are "fighting all of Nato with shovels against the fourth reich reborn" so its justified. Each day the imperialist keeps at its 3 days very special millitary operation is a victory. But hey lets the whataboutisims, shovel comments and 😂😂😂 emojis start once more THIRD year in a row, that will certainly make their victory against less than percent of Natos budget more likely. Good summary, with magnificent animation; It's a shame that unlike the previous video, you treated the topic with too much focus on highlighting the Ukrainian merits in a year in which things went disastrously for them and in the process you dedicated little time to mentioning the achievements, successes and improvement in adaptation of the Russian army in the conflict (something that takes away the objectivity of the video). Also missing is an explanation of the Russian fortification measures in the South, which ended up leading the Ukrainian counteroffensive to failure. =/

When your army is leaded by a literal economist (at least now) and old soviet autocrats serfs (for 2023 and before) whose biggest achievement has been an around 20km penetration in the 2 years ans 3 months special millitary operation so far against less than 10 percent of Natos budget,partially of old stock, its hard to find victories and be "less biased" against hordes who even suck at imperialisim beyond killing everything with artillery and glide bombs then send in the infantry in waves until they run out of bullets or enery at a turtles pace.

@@alexcorvuscazador5596 Be careful, underestimating an enemy is the main reason why you lost wars like Vietnam. Not all countries have the same mentality and the same willingness to make sacrifices, regardless of the multiple reasons, which for some are more valuable than for others; To think that the Russians would become discouraged for the same reasons that a NATO country would, is a huge mistake and they may regret it sooner or later. Recognizing the strengths and victories of your rivals, regardless of how they are obtained, is the greatest weapon you have to defeat them later, as is recognizing your own defeats; If you don't understand it, I recommend reading someone like Sun Tzu, because then you will understand that knowing yourself and your enemy will ensure you win a thousand battles.

Who is you? I am not even american. I am not underestimating them I am looking at the facts they have moved 20km on the widest point in in 2 years and 3 months. If you need a history lesson and read books please do so as the US stopped out Vietnam due to polical pressure , look at the casualties its not even close. If they had stayed longer and lost that would be another issue. Underestimation is the reason why Russia has extended this special millitary operation to three years and their adapting has not translated to any gain as long as their leadership remains as corrupt a ever. As long as Ukraine has will and manpower nothing sill change based on Russias autocratic charatheristics.
Ай бұрын
@@alexcorvuscazador5596 You are wrong if you think that every victory translates into the total destruction of the enemy army, the fact that you degrade the achievement of Vietnam by ending up winning that war, regardless of the means or results, says a lot about you; victory is a victory in the end. You may not be American or even not from the European Union, but I perceive in you enough subjectivity with the subject not to be; It is true that Ukraine has achieved something impressive and that regardless of how it ends, Russia can now consider the war a failure because of what it has cost them and for not achieving the objective (which was not to conquer land, but to subjugate Ukraine to keep it under its control), however that is no reason not to recognize merits regardless of whether they are few or great. Aren't you aware of the War? The Russians have adapted little by little and are now attacking the North through Kharkov, succeeding in destroying the rear logistics by precision attacks with drones and artillery, something they lacked at the beginning (if they had had it before, they would have done more damage when starting the war). The point of recognizing the positive evolution of your enemy helps to carry out more effective countermeasures, but also in terms of the news that is given to the public, it also helps to convince people that this war is a serious matter and that therefore that must continue to be helped with more weapons. If he keeps talking only well about the Ukrainians, he will only make the allied countries fall into apathy. Furthermore, you talk about Russia, but since 2022 Ukraine has not been able to advance a higher amount of mileage than what you criticize the Russians for; On the other hand, Russia continues to expand its war economy, while Europe and the United States remain industrially hesitant and rather than gaining ground, they are losing it. Therefore, recognizing your rivals allows you to be objective in the end, not as you do when you only want to impose the perspective that Russia is just failures; They may be wrong, but even with those they have had successes and allied help comes better when you recognize your enemy's possibilities.

11:50, I never understood this logic “they aren’t giving up?, bomb their families and friends, that will make them want to give up” like bruh they’re gonna get more angry and have nothing left to lose. America did the same thing in Iraq in 2003 and it made the civilians more mad and we got fucked in guerrilla warfare and had to withdraw 💀. (Not saying the same thing will happen to Russia, I don’t have a fucking crystal ball 😭)

Ok, i understand if this video would be published in summer-autumn 2023 but now... Seriously? Although, i really like this narrative: *Battle of Bakhmut:* Insignificant gains (including cities Bakhmut and Soledar), Russians lost 5 soldiers for 1 ukrainian according to NATO estimates (and only to it). Not a single word about ukrainian casualties during battle of Bakhmut and how it affected plans for counteroffensive, while mentioning all the problems of the russian army. *Summer Counteroffensive:* well, ukrainians did defended themselves, destroyed some russian ships and even though they didn't reconquered HUGE chunk of territory, still, they DID achieve tactical gains. Not a single word about russian gains. Bro, you even animated RDK raids on Belgorod and Krynki operation, while not saying a single word about Bradley square or Robotino. You haven't even shown battle of Avdievka on map and how it ended, while stating that "Russia lost a lot of soldiers and had huge issues". Hell, you haven't even shown this offensive and it's results on map, and i'm not even mentioning the results of 9 days russian offensive in Kharkiv oblast, which saw more territorial gains, than whole ukrainian summer offensive in 4 months. Im not saying that it's all good and great with the Russian army. There is a great number of issues and problems with it, but such biased view on this conflict is just disguisting. That's not history, that's propaganda. Still, looks like this is what informational warfare is nowadays.

@@studgud3345That’s true, but barely mentioning the “huge losses” and failures of Ukraine while continuously mentioning Russia’s is a big problem in of itself. It gives the illusion that Ukraine is still at optimal strength while Russia’s military is in shambles when it isn’t the case at all. Now when they recap 2024 they’re going to look like fools as everything said in this video will make AH seem uncredible which is unfortunate as KZbin already has a thing against history channels and losing the trust of the views is the last thing they need.

At this point the Russians will be at the gates of Kharkiv city, Sloviansk, and kramatorsk than Ukraine retaking Crimea. There are rumors that Russia will reopen the Sumy front, so if that happens then a there’s a guaranteed Kiev front that will force Ukrainian forces to be more stretched out. If there’s a second Sumy and Kiev front then I bet that most units will be concentrated defending the Capital and the 2nd most important city, this could allow the Russians to capture Chasiv yar and advance to other areas including Kupiansk, sloviansk, kramatorsk, provkorsk, Zaparozhia city. This year will be the worst year for Ukraine, after this year Ukraine might as well gg

The only ways such a thing could happen is if 1) russia collapses into civil war and Ukraine doesn't (extremally unlikely) 2) Russia gives up the fight Vietnam style and negociates crimea and dombass back (Not very likely but we'll have to see if russia starves in a few years or not) Theres basically no chance for ukraine to actually beat russia militarily while theres also not a lot of chances for russia to beat Ukraine militarily. This war seems to be decided by who stayes in the fight for longer. And since ukraine is fighting for their existance while Russia is fighting for their waining status I'd say theres more chances that ukraine will endure longer than russia.
