The best way I've learned to complete tasks when I don't feel like it is thinking about the consequences of completing versus not completing tasks. The digital age fostered instant gratification. We want success _now_ without much effort. We forget that we have technology such as the Internet because hard workers took their time developing it.

Motivation vs. Discipline. You do it not when you feel like doing it, but because you have to.

Nothing beats consistency , you have to see your goals as mandatory not optional 1) make a plan - 2) create milestone - the little things do matter keep track when you reach a milestone, make it feel like an event 3) actually make time for your goals 4) only worry about the present moment don't worry to much about the future 5) stop negotiating with yourself - we instinctively try to avoid pain 6) Revisit your goal often - why you choose to pursue it what would your life look like when you finish. 7) forgive your failures - don't dwell on the past mistakes just focus on the present self. What happened to make me lose my consistency how can I make sure it doesn't happen again. 8) Do it anyway - goals are tough if it was easy you won't care so much about them cultivate inner resolve.

Huberman said that its even better way to stick to the plan when it comes to visualising future. Insead of seeing what happes when you succed you imagine what happens when you don't. Visualising failure works even better for this kind of job. Prove me if im wrong but im sure I heard that in one of his podcasts. Anyway keep it going guys no matter what happens keep moving forward :)

10 Cardinal Principles to learning: 1. Planning & Premeditations - Before starting a goal, break it down into smaller scopes and address the goal in small steps at a time. Premeditate every potential proceeding regarding the pursuit of your goal, including barriers, personal deficits, worries, fears, doubts, and failures, while maintaing the courage to get on with it. 2. Fundamentals/Foundations - Mastery of the fundamentals and foundations is key to strengthening information and understanding advanced materials, it helps develop a more refined connection between information. 3. Conscious Logical Process - "Think Like A Genius" Train this separately through tasks that require the use of logical thinking, this also involves intuition and the subconscious mind. Study Subjects: Mathematics, Physics, and Philosophy & Psychology or alternatively read lots of books, difficult ones. 4. The subconscious, Background Information, and Intuitions - These are where most of your learning will take place and where intuitions are born - Marinate and immerse your mind in information oriented to your goal and you will obtain fuller understanding and clarity. 5. Focus and Attention - Maintain sustained focus and attention to the larger and smaller scope of your goals, be mindful; do not let yourself become distracted by things that are irrelevant to the goal. 6. Fail - Develop the courage to fail - Invest in your portfolio of failures until you succeed, each failure brings you closer to success. You get better by being inefficient, slow, and bad, so take your time and enjoy the ride. 7. Growth Mindset - Get Comfortable Being Uncomfortable, Embrace the struggle and thrive on discomfort, enjoy challenges, and derive pleasure from the protraction of effort. It may be difficult, but everything is difficult at first also, avoid comparing yourself to others, and work at your own pace - someone is better than you simply because they have spent more time and focus on those things than you did, it is not an indicator of a lack of ability. 8. Persistency, consistency, and Iteration - Maintain behavior, Keep going until you have succeeded, keep repeating until you have achieved your desired results, whatever you do. 9. Raw Practice - Focus less on theory and more on practical practice - practice makes perfect, practice a lot, and reinforce those connections. 10. Positive Attitude - It's a long journey, might as well sit back and enjoy the ride.

Glad to hear and well said! I imagine it like a spinning wheel, without resistance the wheel won't go anywhere. If you were born absolutely talented you would value the skills so much less, it's the exertion and seeing where we were vs now that matters.
@michaelsmith4904
@michaelsmith4904 3 жыл бұрын
@@SToNeOwNz It wasn't until I was older in life that I realized that these types of descriptions really get me down. I have a rather contrary streak, and ask questions like "Why does it have to be that way?" especially if it's not obvious to me that it must or it seems obvious that there is another way. It's great for certain types of work, but it can also lead to one questioning their place in the world because they just don't really feel like they fit in anywhere in the world. I also have a kind of stubborn streak where I push hard against a problem until either the problem breaks or I break, sometimes leaving me without any sense of accomplishment or even regret when I do succeed because I feel like the end result wasn't really worth all the suffering. It's like accomplishing the climbing of Mount Everest (I didn't do this, just an analogy!) only to look down and see how much trash and disturbance I left along the way. Now i regret having climbed the mountain because all that trash and hubris was necessary to get me to where I'm at and maybe things would have been better if I hadn't had this foolish goal. It kind of leads to a place between a rock and a hard place - I've mellowed a bit with age and have learned to relax and stop listening so much to what my brain thinks I should be doing, but I'm not getting any younger and this doesn't help any with my financial needs as I get older, because my brain keeps telling me all these great ideas which should be worth a lot of money. It hasn't come up with a good answer yet for how that can possibly be true when one who doesn't really fit in can't really provide what others want for to pay due to this difficulty relating.

'You don't have to be excited to do it. Just do it'. That's right. Consistancy leads to achieving your goals. Think about it, like write journal, forgive yourself when you lose track. Since it helps you do your chores like a habit and unconsciously like brush teeth. Focus on present and dont care too much about the past after you already find out the solution for your mistakes

I've heard (and even given) these advices so many times, yet have fallen so many times into traps... Now I believe it's essentially for three reasons (n. 1 and 2 are linked to one another, but 2 & 3 are really the main ones) : 1. That "negotiation" thing you mentioned halfway through the video. But there's a reason I negotiate, and that leads us to the second reason... 2. Trying to avoid BOREDOM. I think one needs to "embrace the boredom" of exercising every day. I'm over 40 now, and I finally understood that the biggest challenge for me, what causes the biggest pain in daily efforts after a while, is actually not the physical one, nor the amount of concentration it demands... It's really the "repetitivness" of it that's the most challenging. and I've tried avoiding that pretty much all of my life 😒... It's almost a miracle I managed to accomplish things given the amount of time and effort I've put in trying to avoid boredom. But now I am starting to accept the idea that in order to get things done, boredom is unavoidable. What helps making it acceptable is knowing that you have allowed a bit of time in your day for the unexpected, the surprise, the non-boring. And also things like the practice of "mindfulness"... All in all, "accepting/embracing the boredom/repetitivness of daily exercises" is an exercise in itself. 3. Setting too many goals at the same time/ Working simultaneously on too many goals. I'm more and more convinced now that in order to be successful in anything, one needs to narrow down his/her goals to a very limited number of goals in a specific time frame... The only thing is I still don't know what is that limited number and/or how to find that out 😐😕... If any of you more experienced people out there knows this and would be happy to share your knowledge on this, I'd be extremely grateful 🙏

Summary: 1) Make a plan for your goal of how you are going to achieve it? 2) Divide your main goal into small simple goals and when you reach one of these smaller milestones, celebrate your success. 3) Make time for your goal. 4) Only worry about the present moment, thinking too much about future could overwhelm you. 5) You should remind yourself main goal often. Why you want to pursue it in the first place? Is it going to make you feel more accomplished? Will it be the source of happiness? 6) forgive your failures. It's better to fail 1000 times and stand up rather than failing once and quit. 7) Stop Negotiating with yourself. We instinctively convince ourselves to avoid pain and that'swhy we procrastinate. You have to do it whether you feel motivated or not. 8) Do it anyway. No matter what happens just show up, be consistent in your approach and you will reach success. Conclusion: Remember when you try to achieve a goal, You are like a stone mason, you keep hitting the rock and think that nothing happens, but eventually it will break after many many hits. Be consistent

Consistency is great, as long as the actions you are taking and your plan do in fact lead to your goal. But it’s also important to track progress against the goal and adjust your plan accordingly.
