I run a repair shop, thank you Justin for the video. You're wonderful. I have an articulating arm with an Amscope. You and a few others inspired me to repair phones but also inspired me to microsolder.

This is still a not yet thing with me. I am working on it and there is progress being made. The basic soldering gear is already here, but I still have a ways to go before I am fully equipped to handle this. I really enjoyed this as it was an informative video on microscope set up. Keep it up Justin and don’t be in too big of a hurry for it is better to be certain in setting the business over here than just doing it. You’re doing a good job! Keep it up. Have missed you a lot. Hard to travel and do videos also! Stay safe mates!😊👍🏻😷

what microscope would you recommend to beginners/hobbyist on a slight budget looking for nice quality
@TheArtofRepair3 жыл бұрын
I think you and I both know I need the budget$$ first lol. Budget means different for different people. I recommend personally about 4-500 for a decent scope, or you will find yourself needing to angrily upgrade very fast haha

@@TheArtofRepair I was thinking about the 4-600 range not sure what good brands their are I almost bought an amscope but glad I watched this video

Hi guys, can anyone tell me why I’m having this problem, I’ve been asking around KZbin but no one has responded. I’ve been removing tiny ic chips with a rework station and I’ve been able to remove ic chips in seconds but some times I try to remove the same exact ic chips on different boards and they won’t come off I have tried many settings to no vail. I use tacky flux too. It’s kinda random. I feel like if I don’t get in the first ten seconds they will never get off, I spent about two hours on one ic chip last night and it never came off...
@TheArtofRepair3 жыл бұрын
Sounds to me like your hot air needs calibrated. What station do you use?
@realLoveDone3 жыл бұрын
@@TheArtofRepair thanks for the reply, what a relief 😅. it’s the blue Tuauto ds882 one on Amazon. It seems like a really simple soldering station and I did not see a calibration feature and worst I can’t exactly tell how much air it’s pushing since it’s got a 1 to 17 dial setting
@robertcalkjr.83253 жыл бұрын
It sounds like you are running into IC's that have a contact solder pad underneath the center of the IC. You need to put plenty of flux around the IC, then bump your heat up to around 400C with your air up as high as you can go without blowing surrounding components off the board. It helps to cover surrounding components with Kapton tape. I wonder where Justin has gone?
@realLoveDone3 жыл бұрын
@@robertcalkjr.8325 I figured it out, I didn’t attached the heat nozzle correctly and it was escaping from the side! Thank you for the insight!
