Gaz: I asked that question in Church once - "Why don't we see any big deal miracles like the burning bush today?" Soon after, I had witnessed in my personal life (maybe I was just paying attention, now) so many miracles of healing and deliverance in my family, impossible rescues (my daughter fell off the grand canyon and clung to the ONLY scrubby bush cropping out of the sidewall), and other personal revelations. Miracles abound today - most happen in the privacy of your prayer time and are not video-recorded - too bad for that - but it DOES mean that you are more apt to recognize them as you seek God of miracles and begin to recognize Him in your daily life. John 3 16 can be that recognized miracle in your life. It reveals how much God loves you, what the desire of His heart is for you and what His promise is to you. Have a good day.

You might as well just flat out tell someone they can't read at the third grade level that the passages were written in. So instead of bitching about me getting something wrong, why don't you get your foot out of your mouth, put your money there and tell me exactly how being a eunuch is good in one passage but not in another, how your evil god both punishes innocent people and does not, and how slavery isn't the horrible practice that humanity has known it to be since before the American Civil War. While you're at it, I'd love to see you justify your god's gleeful indulgence of the evil and useless practice of torture. That should be a hoot. Maybe you can explain the context of this passage: *Genesis 38;6-10* _KJV_ *6* _And Judah took a wife for Er his firstborn, whose name was Tamar._ *7* _And Er, Judah's firstborn, was wicked in the sight of the Lord; and the Lord slew him._ *8* _And Judah said unto Onan, Go in unto thy brother's wife, and marry her, and raise up seed to thy brother._ *9* _And Onan knew that the seed should not be his; and it came to pass, when he went in unto his brother's wife, that he spilled it on the ground, lest that he should give seed to his brother._ *10* _And the thing which he did displeased the Lord: wherefore he slew him also._ And in doing so, I'd like you to tell me why your god would kill somebody for a "crime" so small, insignificant, and petty that it wasn't even mentioned, then kill that guy's brother for not ejaculating inside his dead brother's -property- grieving widow when he was raping her as your god's evil laws demand…Yet your god didn't kill Hitler. in quantum physics, you can shoot a stream of particles at a barrier that the particles cannot normally pass through... if you shoot enough particles, some of them will end up on the other side of the barrier. They do not "pass through" the barrier, they don't make a hole, or jump over, or burrow under, or slide around the end of the barrier. They do not in any way actually intersect matter to matter with the barrier, they simply end up on the other side. The "reason" this happens is because we cannot measure the exact position of a particle any closer than a certain amount, and this then MUST extend to an actual property of the particle... ie: it's not just that WE can't measure it any closer, it's that it CANNOT BE measured any closer, and therefore, the particle can't be said to be on one side or the other of the barrier (until we look and see which side it's on) the best we can do is to predict within a close order of magnitude, how many particles are likely to end up on the other side of the barrier. Is this a "miracle"? Is it a type of physics we don't yet fully understand? There is no possible way to call it a miracle. It just is. It is the nature of quantum particles at that scale. Does it mean things in our macro world can pass through solid objects? NOPE. Quantum physics does a lot of weird crap that seems like magic and miracles from our macro point of view, yet none of it is magic or miraculous.

I have a friend that is a big time fanatic, I mean 30 years bible study, teaches Sunday school, you name it. He sells insurance, my degrees are in science. We go thru this stuff a lot. When it comes to religion its like every bit of common sense is just out the window...... I finally told him a few days ago , I dont think you understand exactly the full weight of the argument your putting forth here, Do you realize that in order for the Biblical story to be true, that magic and the super natural has to be real. That means that Voo Doo has to be real. THAT got his attention......LOL These guys are just amazing. I ask him to show me one thing in the world that religion has cured, or solved, and of course he couldn't do it. Then he turned the question on me, I sighted Polio, Smallpox, Whooping Cough, Tuberculosis, ,,,and ask him if I should go own. The next thing he told me was,,,I know a lot more about the Bible than you do. I told him of course you do, you spent 30 years studying it. Ive spent a few months here researching it on your recommendation and we obviously didn't arrive at the same conclusion. But its not because you spent more time on it. I dont have to go all the way to the bottom of a well before I realize im in a hole, I knew it was a waste of time from the start because the whole story is bust without magic. I was actually surprised the mistakes and errors are so obvious and people still believe them. To be quite honest with you, I think your pissed off that you wasted 30 years of your life on something that I have proven to you is nothing but a fairy tale. The only thing I can tell you is, your not alone.......But please stop teaching our kids that the earth was created by a magic man who lives in the sky, and it was done less than 10,000 years ago. Unless you can prove that then your teaching a lie because I have proven to you that its much older. He has had all kinds of problems answering my questions, Slavery threw him a curve he cant seen yo answer....... I tell you folks, I'm convinced 90% of the big believer out there really dont know whats in there own book.......My bet is I lost a friend, but if his thinking is so far out in left field as to not see the logic here,,,I'm just not too upset about the loss......

We're no longer interested in finding out the truth. The bamboozle has captured us. It is simply too painful to acknowledge -- even to ourselves - that we've been (taken.) so credulous. Once you give a charlatan power over you, you almost never get it back. (So the old bamboozles tend to persist as the new bamboozles rise.)” - Carl Sagan (in other words, when someone is “In Too Deep” they no longer care about the truth. Instead, they care more about keeping that lie/belief alive) “Think of how many religions attempt to validate themselves with prophecy. Think of how many people rely on these prophecies, however vague, however unfulfilled, to support or prop up their beliefs. This kind of reasoning suspiciously fits within the framework of how almost every single religion on the planet functions, not to mention multiple instances in various religions where gods unmistakably appear/ineract with people. What you're saying is not a gotcha moment, yet it adds more confusion and you're applying aspects of faith that are only relevant to a already religious person to try and "prove" their position. Btw why does choice between believing or not should be taken seriously? Someone could've just made the whole concept up.

@@DM-gs1le I agree. That's why I didn't say anything about the possible causes of reported events called "miracles". I'm also not talking about a common usage of miracle meaning, unexpected or rarely happens, like " My boss agreed with me! It's a miracle!" For what theists would call miracles, for example, if it was common for people to resurrect after being dead for 3 days, regardless of the explanation for all these resurrections, then someone resurrecting would not be called a miracle. As for supernatural, it's a meaningless term. By definition, anything that actually occurs (i.e in nature) is natural. Supernatural can only mean an unknown natural answer, or that it doesn't exist. If ghosts, psychic powers, magic, etc. actually exist in reality, they would be natural.

@@robinvan1983 Something being more impressive than something else still doesn't change the fact that they are 2 different things.

@@SongWhisperer you aren't making the distinction very clear. have you not noticed that? It makes no sense stating: reincarnation stops at the point of resurrection. That is a non sensible statement. what is the difference between reincarnation and resurrection? Because both adresses the same thing, coming back to life. Jesus... died once and came back to life once Dalai lama died multiple times and came back multiple times. and that is not including hinduism perspective

@@robinvan1983 Reincarnation is the soul being reborn over and over into different body's. The Dalai Lama is in his 14th reincarnation, and this Dalai Lama talks about not being reincarnated again and possibly being resurrected back to his original Creator. Resurrection is God reclaiming the soul, taking back what is his. Jesus did not come back to life, that is a misunderstanding on your part. Jesus died and God took his body and soul back to its original Creator, when Jesus makes his return, he's coming back as the exact same person because God preserved his body and soul through resurrection. The Dalai Lama is reincarnated into different bodies because his creator has not preserved his body and soul through resurrection, but only the soul is preserved through reincarnation, that's why he needs a new body everytime, and he doesn't use the same body over and over. It might be a small difference in the big scheme of things, but it's a difference none the less, they just aren't the same thing. The only thing that reincarnation and resurrection have in common, is neither one of them are believable. I don't believe that Jesus was resurrected anymore than I believe that the Dalai Lama is in his 14th reincarnation, I'm just pointing out that they're not the same thing.
