WHAT IS THE ATHEIST EXPERIENCE?
The Atheist Experience is a weekly cable access television show in Austin, Texas geared at a non-atheist audience. The Atheist Experience is produced by the Atheist Community of Austin.
The Atheist Community of Austin is organized as a nonprofit educational corporation to develop and support the atheist community, to provide opportunities for socializing and friendship, to promote secular viewpoints, to encourage positive atheist culture, to defend the first amendment principle of state-church separation, to oppose discrimination against atheists and to work with other organizations in pursuit of common goals.
We define atheism as the lack of belief in gods. This definition also encompasses what most people call agnosticism.

The hardest thing about being an atheist is accepting that I'll never see my beloved cats and dogs again. But I try to do good things for animals and people in their memories, and let them go. Humans are built for sorrow; we've evolved to survive grief and keep on going. Damn few people have ever died of a broken heart.

The single most painful loss in my life was a feline friend. My ex-fiance and I raised him from the age of 3 -5 days old. He got separated during a storm and was found by my girlfriend's sister. My first reaction was oh shit, this little rat-like kitten isn't gonna survive the night, my girlfriend is gonna be upset, why now? Suffice to say we bottle-fed him, etc. and with the help of several cats who lived at my girlfriend's mom's home (where we also lived at the time) and taught him esoteric cat knowledge (grooming, etc.), he grew into the single coolest, most beautiful creature I've ever known. When my fiance and I amiably broke up, Lemmy stayed with me and our bond and communication grew to amazing levels. He seemed totally locked into my emotional vibes. Be it if I were tripping on acid, grieving the death of my closest cousin and friend, or just having a dull day, he had knack for dropping by at just the right moments. Watching him die on the 4th of July (with the sound of the Oshkosh city fireworks going off in the background) was surreal and even 2+ years later I still dream about him and wake up petting a pillow. It sucks and he is irreplaceable. But not as irreplaceable as the 17 years we spent together as friends and the experience of such an unexpected (and at the time kind of unwanted) "gift" just dropping into my life in the form of a mouse-sized, eyes still closed, totally helpless and lost kitten wrapped in a small towel inside a cardboard box. I don't know if I'll ever be able to bring myself to adopt another cat even though I know that shelters are always filled with cats in desperate need of homes. Maybe some day. Lemmy my friend, you were one cool cosmic cat!!!! Love ya.

Cory somehow managed to get into the Doctor's office in the psych ward and made an outgoing call. What surprises me is that he managed to get hold of the Atheist Experience phone number and dial the number.

People like Linus need to know when they are idiotic. First, thinking that people used to kill and didn't think it was a big deal before the Bible. And thinking America is ok with killing. This happens alot in morality discussions. Like slavery. Just because people killed or had slaves does not mean they thought it was good or moral. He thinks killing was no big deal in the past because he has stereotypical views about those times. Plus the killing that was being done, and the killing that is "ok" in America is not just killing people for road rage or stealing cucumbers. The killing was for war and punishment. Killing has never been moral. Sometimes it was amoral. But never a good thing.

Wow people are talking about their dogs and cats 🤐🤐 lost my identical twin sister almost 3vyears ago and it has almost destroyed me!!! She walked in my door had a cardiac arrest and died!! An when my bulldog walked in a couple off months ago and dropped dead on the spot I would never compare loosing him to the pain when I lost my sister🤐🤐🤐 I'm a realist and no matter what pain I go through day in and day out , I just can't pretend or bring myself to believe in some theme park after we die . I have to be an adult and somehow come to terms with the reality that Ivev lost her forever!! And I it hurts like hell and is ruining me , but its reality!!! Even though I'm barely hanging on I can't even consider the ridiculous notion of Christianity or Islam!! It's so farfetched and beyond reality I can't believe that folks today even give it a second thought!! This strenuous effort to deny science and reality in favour of religion , just proves we are evolved prime mates with extremely fallible rationalizing skills!!!
