Something I haven’t seen touched on was that Adam and his trans clone Eve were introduced into the world as fully formed adults that didn’t have the benefit of a childhood where most reinforcement for right and wrong is ingrained. Leaving them to their own devices would be equivalent to leaving a toddler unsupervised then holding the toddler accountable for any actions you didn’t approve of that the toddler may have done. When I was 5 or 6 years old, my parents gave me books about Aesop’s fables, Mother Goose stories, Fairy tales, etc., and almost all of those stories had talking animals. I asked my Dad if animals can really talk, and he told me that it was make-believe (which I later labeled Suspended disbelief). I put those books on my make-believe shelf, along with Mickey Mouse, Peter Rabbit, and Winnie the Pooh. One day my well-meaning but deluded Presbyterian grandmother gave me a book of Bible stories for children. In the very first story, I found a talking snake. That book went straight to the make-believe shelf, where it has remained for over 65 years. (Later edit: I acknowledge that there is one species of animal that can talk. Ours.) (And some birds.)

Adam and Eve ate the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Before they ate the fruit, they did not know good and evil, right or wrong. So, up until they took the first bite, they did not have a concept of wrong, so they did not know that it was wrong to disobey God. God punished them, and all future generations, for doing something they had no reason to know was wrong. God is a total ass-h*le. Plus, that totally negates the idea of original sin, so what is Jesus for? Another thing, why would they suddenly become “aware of their nakedness,” as if suddenly they think it is wrong? I don't think the people that made these stories up understood this - but we can. The things we attributed to a being outside of time and space are now quantified, codified, explained. We know more about the universe we find ourselves in every day. That's why so many of the uneducated or undereducated cling to faith - they can't conceive of a world outside of the stories they internalized.
