I attended the Alerrt Training last year, and learned a lot, True Realistic training. Great training I would definitely recommend to others. By the way, the training is FREE.

I know it’s training but pause at 2:19 They need to watch we’re they are pointing the guns directly at each other! Salute to our first responders though they go through a lot!

Fireman amd EMT’s usually stage outside have stuff ready for when police bring victims out since it is too dangerous for these people to go inside. However if you go to Miami police youtube channel you can see that they are trying to incorporate emt’s to go inside with police officers after the first police crew is clearing the building

Rescue Task Force teams, made up of two of officers and two firefighters/emts enter the warm zone to start triage and life threatening care to victims. The days of waiting outside for pd to clear a building and bring victims out are over. Every dept needs to train their members in TECC and RTFs.

Generally you want the tourniquet to be as close to the top of an extremity as possible, in that instance that looks like it’s as close to the top as it can get, it may just be the wounds proximity

That sucks. When I trained for ALERRT the point was to be on the same page with a lot of responding agencies you may have never worked with before. You should be able to have work interoperability PD, SO, DPS, Constables, Fire marshall, shouldn't matter. You should all be on the same page with ALERRT that's the whole freaking point.

@@stephengregory1655 When I took Active Shooter course at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center’s in Charleston S.C they taught it that way to be on the same page with other agencies, but the two day ALERTT course that different local agencies host had their own version on how they taught it.

@@jeromewilson2949 sorry to hear that brotha. They aren't doing right by y'all putting their own twist on things. Here they've been pretty consistent as far as the actual materials and procedures. Maybe not the quality, but that's to be expected

Waiting for police response is really foolish. An armed, trained staff member could react much much faster.

Average police response time is 3 minutes. In an active shooting there are 3 stages (ADD) Avoid. This means run away if you can do not try to be a hero. Deny. Deny access for the shooter to enter your room if you cannot run away. This means barricade the door so the shooter will have difficulty to enter the room so the shooter will move on. Lastly Defend. This should ALWAYS be your LAST resort if you cannot run away nor barricade yourself. You use every resource that you can use as a weapon to take the weapon away.

Robin24 don’t be stupid...average response time for law enforcement in active shooter is NO WHERE NEAR three minutes. Hell, it took SWAT 47 MINUTES to respond to Columbine. You are your own first responder... prepare as such.

Really great program but it sounds like it costs a lot and a lot of officers won't get that training. Damn only if there was some way to get guns out of the hands of these shooters. Welp guess there's no solution.

Margery Stoneman was a drill gone live. These drills at the locations of the schools while kids are present should be banned to prevent them in the first place. Listen to the kids own testimonies they said they were told to go out side they were herded to go a certain way it was literally a drill gone live. They were told they would have a drill that day.

Holy lack of rear security!! Good lord! Never heard of silhouetting the door?! Never heard of the high ready?! Never heard of pieing your corners?! Never heard limiting your signature near cover?! Never heard of clearing your corners or work space?! God damn people. I could go on.
@lc6936

I could go on about use high ready when pieing around a corner. Dude was laying on the ground pointing a gun at me when I walked in. My gun was high up and my forearms blocked my view resulting in me getting shot. There is no perfect way to do things. A foundation needs to be had, I agree but each situation calls for slightly different tactics, however, the foundation should remain the same. Also, don’t be so critical, this is training. If these were instructors doing this that would be one thing. They are learning. Let them learn. If they get shot in training from lack or rear security, they will have rear security in the future. Just like when I was shot in training by being at the high ready like you said, I was shot in the chest. I don’t pie at the high ready all the time, however, I don’t completely eliminate it either. Situation dependent.

not how it works man ban "assault" rifles people will use pistols. ban all guns people will use knives like the isla vista incident. or even get guns illegally. saying that guns are not allowed in certain places does not create a force field that doesn't let people with guns in. you can never prevent anything but you can always prepare.
