What a beautiful campground! It's nice to have riverside access at some parts, there is so much to do outdoors! It would be cool to do a kayak tour. Having a laundry facility is a huge plus!

Great video, thank you for sharing your experience. I'm heading to Pog Lake this summer for a week and it will be my first time there as well. It was very helpful to see the campsites since the photos on the Provincial Park don't give you a very good idea of what the sites look like. Your video was well done, very informative and gave me a good idea of what the park and amenities are really like. Looking forward to your next adventure and if it's a camping trip, I will surely check out your recommendations. Safe travels! 😎🏕

Thanks for the kind words! Pog Lake is a great park and centrally located which we really enjoyed for exploring the trails and surrounding area. The photos on the Ontario Parks site can be so awful! Some sites don't even have a photo.

@@TheAverageTourist You're most welcome! The Park looks great and not completely remote. I'm a bit tentative about tent camping in the more remote parts of Algonquin due to a very frightening Bear encounter years ago. If I were in a small trailer, I'd be more adventurous but I'm fine in the tent when I have neighbors. 😊 Yes, the photos definitely don't give you a true sense of what the site is really like. Gone are the days when you could simply arrive at a Park and take a drive through to pick your spot then check in with the Ranger to book the site. Your videos are extremely helpful in this regard. Thanks a lot, you and Allan keep the videos coming. 😎👍🏕

Yes I’m so happy you liked it :D, Algonquin is massive! That sunset was so nice. If you ever make it to the east side of highway 60 there is a logging museum trail that I think you would like. It shows you what they used and how they lived way back when the first settlers came to Algonquin.

08:24 the garbage containers are called moloks. They keep odor down because the waste at the bottom stays cold. Due to height, it compresses the garbage naturally. Also keeps water out, hold a lot of waste and can be emptied with a crane infrequently.

is it best to reserve a canoe from somewhere before we go, or are there enough supply/ options that we can rent when we get there?

They have outfitters but if you are visiting at a busier time I'd reserve in advance. Some deliver right to your campsite too.

We don't have any pictures that show the site - just our trailer. I do remember it was completely open on both sides. There are cedars between the sites, but they are tall, so there really was no lower foliage to divide the sites.
