The vibrato lessens it; if he were singing that note in pure straight tone, the vibration would be worse. I am a classically trained opera singer, and even though I am a contralto, if I go to the upper ends of my register, even as a woman, the same thing happens.

Interesting. I watched an opera singer react and say she disagreed it was because of that. She said it’s because of tension. Like nerves leading to shaking. And of course anyone can have nerves even if they’re as good as Dimash. But that sounded weird to me. I saw another reactor (vocal coach) say it looked like a technique he was doing purposely to help hit the notes. At this point I’m stumped haha even the pros all disagree

In my opinion a real DEAR would always stick to Dimash`s Kind of being in this world: Loving, friendly, supportive. You never see him scream at somebody or being inpolite. Stick to that as a Dear. That was his dad at the end :))) BTW he is huge fan of Michael Jackson and Jackie Chan .While in China he was so well welcomed and they arranged him to meet Jackie Chan in person. He was so excited , like a little boy, and gave Dombra ( traditional Kazakh instrument) to him as a present. His fellow competitors don't hate or envy him---he'd such a decent, caring and loving person that they all became his friends and returned with him to his home, where they have developed into a sort of posse. He makes sure they have gigs, and they make sure he's safe. The relationship between them is fiercely, genuinely loyal. As for the first person (who won that contest), that person was Chinese, and the whole thing followed a sort of traditional routine. However, that first performance of SOS resulted in sudden and explosive fame for Dimash. So, in a way, he DID win that night.

In the competition of Singers, singer Sandy Lam beat him to the first place, although Dimash has the most stunning singing techniques, Sandy can surely be deemed to have more experience with pop singing and gave the mid-range a lot of colorful and powerful natural voice distortion with the high notes in her songs, vibrancy, and power at the same time. And sadly but true, her kind of pop singing is the most demanding in chinese market, true of many other countries as well. Sometimes people say it's the singer not the song in the program, but I disagree, the songs and the singers are parallel in importance to the achievement of their unique artistry, this left room for Dimash to improve on his pop singing and language adaptations as a young singer, this is the best thing a singer can ever seek for in the journey. But this is the first time Dimash ever been beaten to the second place in life, he was always the No.1 in any other competitions, and this forever changed his career, he his effort to change and adapt boomed his fame even more than he ever imagined, and the singer show improved their settings and program adaptations a ton more after Dimash and Sandy Lam!

This competition was not for unknowns. Except for Dimash the other contestants were established artists in China. DIMASH was the dark horse of the competition. The other competitors already had fans. This was the pros against the pros with one newbie.

Guys you are right...It's a culture thing, you are not at all disrespectful to Dimash or his fans. In the Singer competition, the Chinese would have never allowed a foreigner to win. They did however loved Dimash and later admitted that he's the best, I.e. genius. You guys and the rest of the world have wondered why Dimash came in second. Let's look at the big picture. The judges were the 500 people in the audience. Like American Idol, the Singer besides judging real talent, in the end, it was a popularity contest. The winner, a female Chinese from Hong Kong. A well-renowned singer in Asia for many many years. Dimash came in as a wild card from Kazakhstan, unknown to the Chinese audience. Dimash did win first place in both episodes 1 and 2, S.O.S. and Opera 2. As you move along in the Singer episodes, Dimash sings in episodes 1 and 2, French and Russian. And in the remaining 11 episodes, he sings in English, Kazakh, Italian, Mandarin as well as playing the piano, dombra and drums. Continue the ride.

The Song was from the Singer Vitas (Russia). Vitas did not allow him to sing it ever again in Public, because Dimash sang it better and even higher, then Vitas could. He was a Little pissed about that. BTW Dimash is a big MJ fan and he met Jackie Chan in the Time he was at The Singer competition in China. Since then, they are friends, and Dimash attended at a Jackie Chan Festival a few weeks ago. Man, you have soooo much Perfomances to catch up with. And he is sooo much better today, you can`t even imagine. He is a prodigy, a phenomenon and I am so lucky to see him live in November in Germany. He will be here with Igor Krutoy`s Anniversary Tour. Igor was in semi-retirement and than he met Dimash a couple of month ago. Since then they are a magical duo, and Igor let Dimash sing his old hits (he is very picky with who is allowed to sing them) in Dimash Style and even writes new Songs, only for him. He has now the whole palette of tones he Can work with, that Can inspire ones creativity, where in the past was a Limit, there is non anymore, with Dimash. Try to think, if there is ONE male Singer on the Planet who could cover a Dimash Song ?! I think no one could copy that.

The competition has 500 judges. The first two weeks Dimash beat all the other competitors. He was the youngest competitor ever at 22. Most of the other singers had decades of experience. You can watch the whole shows with English subtitles. I watched them because I couldn't see why he didn't win, but the competition was also excellent.

Sandy Lam won the overall competition. She is a famous and beloved singer in China. And she is a wonderful performer. Like anything else in life there is always personality and politics with contests like this where the best is voted by the audience. The winner of the competition really did not matter because the competition itself shot Dimash to superstardom in China which was the real prize for his participation.

Its Dee - maaash. Amazing, its a gift as well as 20 yrs of training and hardwork and still do training for 3 hrs every day ( he is 25 now btw). He won first place in first two episodes (sang SOS and Opera2). The judges are the 500 members of the audiences in studio ( not 2 or 3 persons). The lady who said "wow" at the end won the overall competition, she is Sandy Lam, a 53 yrs old famous singer from China who has huge fan base and 30 yrs is music industry, a very good singer. As this is a competition for established singers, Dimash was youngest and not so famous that time, to come 2nd overall is quite an achievement. Now he is famous, worldwide fans in more than 120 countries. Thank you.

Viewer audience voting is weighed heavily in results The lady who won this season is a widely known performer with thirty years exposure and a fan base to rival Beyonce.
