The Lord really knew I needed this word. What a blessing. I have been single for three years since giving my Life to Christ and broke up with my ex who was an atheist. Sometimes I get really sad waiting for my husband. I have been moving my house and business this past month. Literally the most difficult time of my life and I felt the enemy attacking me on how easy it would be if I had a man to help me with this move. And I have been crying out to God on his timing like God you know a man would be super helpful right now moving this couch. This message reminded me that in all of this, we are a living testimony and someone is looking at us seeing Jesus or Satan depending on what we show them. I have been trying to stay grateful even in this because its made me stronger and closer to deepening on God. Thanks for this message brothers!

Hey, great discussion, and expression for single people, especially connect with the piece about weddings and how we show up. I’m 47 and single most of my life, I think the church but many people in general have not understood the triggers single people go through. It’s not just the weddings, it’s also the hen nights, baby showers, kids birthdays etc. I once saw a tiktok where a lady said single people invest way more in married friends so it’s never balanced because we attend all these events but if we are lucky get a birthday. Single people in the work place are expected to do more over time because we have no life apparently and now are also expected to invest more of this free time in the church. I think this is why there is a rise in self care or self focus because single people have been ignored for a long time, work benefits like maternity / paternity l/ kids leave don’t apply to us. singles ministries have been dwindling with lots more focus on marriage counselling. There is a deeper conversation about this perceived selfishness which honestly in my case and I know many others is as a result of exhaustion from support we give others working like crazy, but are not supported in the same way, so we need to be careful we don’t push this narrative. As a single man Jesus went away from his disciples many times to be alone with God 😊 we need that too. Thanks 🙏🏾

Marriage can be a beautiful thing. As a widow I have learned and accepted the fact I didn't want to remarry again. Perhaps it easy for me to say this because I was blessed once to have a good marriage (not a perfect marriage). Marry couples can have a let to offer but single people also have a lot to offer too. So, either married or single embrace where you are in the season of life. One last thing the only disciple that was married accordingly to scripture was Peter all the others were single.

Ironically I'm watching this sitting at the airport getting ready to go to my bestfriend wedding as a single woman. I was getting some anxiety on my way to the airport but I couldn't figure out why. I needed this message right in this moment. I wasn't searching but it popped in my feed. Apparently God heard me even though I couldn't utter the words of how I was feeling but knew I was feeling something. My silent prayer was, God help, I don't know what's wrong... 😮‍💨🙏🏾 Thank you! Going to get the book now. ☺️

❤❤❤❤As a single 34 year old, I can relate so much. This guy has a way of explaining some of the things I've felt but never quite had the words for it🤯....especially in Christianity where we sometimes underestimate the struggles of being single and overspiritualize things. Loved this interview 🙌 👏

Dude I literally was telling my family that weddings feel like a funeral and it’s really hard because it feels like there’s a small death happening in the my relationships. I’m fine now but it was so rough for me when my mom and best friend got married within a year of each other and moved away or out of the house. 😢

That is bananas. My dad moved us around a lot when he worked for General Motors too and I never met anyone with the same story. It's always hard answering that question: where are you from and where were you raised... No, not a military brat... AND I moved to Austin sight unseen. Left the city years ago but I will need to visit Red Rocks next time I'm back.

I receive the rebuke to not make the wedding about you. But the bible also says to not lie. So if I as a single person am invited to a wedding and it disturbs me to attend them, should I decline the invitation so as to not bring that cloud? I am asking for those who can't bring the "wine" to the wedding, even though I can and will.

I’ve been single my whole life. I spent a lot of that time doing quite a bit of the things that are iterated in this 30 minute clip, and honestly, I’m tired of doing stuff by myself…transparency. At a certain point, it felt like there was no purpose being served anymore. I guess I’m just confused as to what purpose my singleness is supposed to serve because often times it feels like it’s not serving a purpose at all. And I’m not really sure how I feel about it or what to do next.

"Selfish with their time..." this is convicting, but only to an extent. I might just have to speak to the exception on this. So when we as single people take care of the ailing parents or grandparents with little to no help, but every body comes lining up.for the will to be read, what then? Even Ryan's "by in large" segue was not satisfactory enough for me. I may need to get on this show. It may never happen, but still...

Oh Lord how I needed this discussion! So much in this talk I’m going through right now. 2 years ago Christ adopted me and I discovered true peace and freedom. I’m still being healed, set free and delivered from my past. Lived as a lesbian for most of my adult life. Came to Christ after a very toxic relationship. Recently had a boyfriend for almost a year and I just broke up the relationship. I’m 36, no children and I want to be married but I want a relationship with a man whose heart is on fire for God the same as mine. That’s the intimate connection I am hungry for. This discussion was wonderful to hear of how a time of being single can be a time for you to bless the church and others. So badly I needed this word!! Thank you Lord and Bside!
