USA Custom guitars or Warmoth would both be awesome choices. Im in the process of this right now with a Squier 72 Tele Bass. Ultralights and Kickass installed ,with stacked 500k and Mojotone vitamin T .1uF cap. Can someone say roasted ash body and roasted maple neck? lol

Any gadget in the market to simulate the mechanism similar to Phil Kubucki basses? Like when dropped to D, you needn't change fretting positions and play like you would play the low E strung bass?
@Neodude9917 жыл бұрын
What's the next upgrade after the nut? Strap locks? String tree? Knobs? PG screws? Think the bass as been upgraded enough now..Still looks and sounds fantastic though.

My Squire is an Indonesian 2014 VM, and I never have tuning issues. So this stage cud really be missed. Don't think just because it's a Squier that everything needs changing. They are good basses.

Great proyect! I have a very similar bass (Squier Jazz Bass classic vibe 70's). Do you think those tuners would fit my bass? Thank you.
@GeroLubovnik6 жыл бұрын
I've got the same bass and done several of the same mods, but a bit differently. The Gotoh bridge will accomplish the same thing at 1/3 the price of Hipshot (only $40). I suggest that BRG look at the nut. There is no reason the stock tuners shouldn't be smooth and precise. Replacing all the tuners is unnecessary. The stock tuners on my Squier work perfectly but I did install the BT7 and hear/feel no difference in the smoothness of tuning. Work on the nut and skip the other 3 tuners. Also, Aguilar AG 4J-HC pickups are the bomb for this bass. Lastly... Take the money you'd have spent on the tuners and have a pro do a fret level and setup. I was shocked at how much better it sounded as well as played. I do like his flat black body color.

squier and fender in general is hit or miss with thier tuning hardware. your mileage may vary.
@zaxzumu46056 жыл бұрын
I didn't put a huge priority on changing tuners on my main bass, but am now because the G tuner has started having issues and won't tune past F without popping loose and going down to A. Figured I might as well at that point. Gonna do the same with the bridge whenever I start having issues with it.
@preciseaudioblog5 жыл бұрын
I have the new Jazz Bass Classic Vibe 70's. Get you on the bridge, but don't agree on the stock tuners... Takes me quite a bit to get the bass in the right tuning to record. Guess you got luck. Fret job, definitely.

I've been really enjoying the channel. If you're ever looking for ideas, I'm always looking for ways to incorporate different types of tones into more "normal" types of music that I find myself playing, i.e. alt country/rock and roll, worship, etc. Bass pedals are fun but a lot of them don't seem super practical for lots of types of music where a "clean" tone is usually expected.
@TheBassChannel7 жыл бұрын
Nick Welch We are working on producing content that features more theory and less gear on our Patreon page. As far as our public KZbin channel, we like to focus on the pedals, amps, etc. due to our channel name. I agree that not everything we review is very practical but most of the time it's fun and at the very least, you'll know what not to try. Thank you for watching!
@nicholasdavidwelch7 жыл бұрын
Totally! I guess what I meant was it would be cool to see this gear that you're demoing used in a "real world" setting, or dialed back so that it sounds cool in a band setting. I don't know if that makes sense, hope it didn't sound like a critique!
@TheBassChannel7 жыл бұрын
Nick Welch I understand. Unfortunately, we're not quite in the position to demonstrate the pedals in a full band setting but hopefully we can do that in the future.

The sound of that bass, or rather how it is mixed, really doesn't do it for me. It sounded like mostly the lowest, muddiest frequencies combined with the sound of metal on metal as the strings hit the frets.
