"Labor of Love" is what I call this...... a helluva lotta work in the front-end just to get the HooK in the water = now you're fishin' & when you set that hook you've got that back-end work...lol, reeling it in was wearing you out & you're a young man but what was that "Rodeo Trick" that local -n- you did to hoist the shark out? That was a real Texan Lasso Trick & in all the fishing I've seen across S. Louisiana I'd never seen em' do that over the rod although it makes sense. It's one of that handy dandy things that a seasoned pro would know & I haven't know too many who fished for sharks off a pier ..... And having enough energy to throw them back,,,whew, that guy was on-time w/ the "release" part of the trip !! great video

I thought sharks were a protected species, so unprofessional, the man hurt the shark as he carelessly threw it back in the water. Horrible to see people enjoying hurting animals for fun!☹️

This showed up on my swipe to the left thing on my phone, always handy to have a quick look at the news, will watch the video later on, add it to one of my playlists, currently hunting information about species to target in Australia and New Zealand :) happy days/nights to everyone who is fishing, is considering going fishing, is learning about fishing (me, so I can teach others) and those dreaming about fishing :) Still heaps of videos, loads of play lists to watch and a heap of channels to figure out what best suits my needs :) plus the needs of the beginners I need to teach.

Yeah real cool dude.... Let's leave the shark on the dock for 10 minutes while we brag and boast and take pictures..... Then you hold it up next to you to show how big it is.... I figure about 4' considering you're probably 4'11"!!! I mean have some respect for the animals and the place you live in, whether it's your place of birth or somewhere you moved to. Further, im not opposed to harvesting animals, not by any means, but i have caught many sharks while fishing doen in florida... Lots of spinners, black tips, lemons, bull sharks and even a few nurse sharks.... Just from the fight of bringing them to the boat, we had to hold them next to the boat while we idled along to resucitate the animal. Nevermind fighting it for a very long time, then using a hangmans noose to drag it up and body slam it to the pier.... Then you had to sit there and bask in your glory like you're a hero. Basically i saw a man overcompensating for something. I promise you that at least one of those sharks died , probably both. I mean just be a decent person for Gods sake.

Galveston. Man, I've fished that pier as well as the one that now has a roller coaster on it. Too bad they've commercialized that place so much. But I understand that it costs a lot to maintain the structure, so $3 fishing isn't going to take care of it. I've also surfed that area. That was a grest place to hang out while growing up.

The Friday before SuperStorm Sandy struck New Jersey I was on Island Beach State Park. In a memorable 45 minute period, very large bluefish and striped bass blitzed in pods one after the other. First, the bluefish shredded my tackle I had set out with bunker chunks. Those blues I actually hooked were too much for my tackle and consistently broke my 25 lb. monofilament. The huge stripers were a little more considerate in that they didn't have the slashing teeth which the bluefish did. Still, I landed _one_ striper out of the whole mess as one after the other broke off. Over that winter I reassessed my tackle needs and got serious about getting a few stout rods at 11 and 12 feet long plus I switched over to braided line and 65 lb. wire leaders.

This is old news you're not showing me anything that is new, just say catches blacktip from a pier, I've caught many of shark but never was that faded at the end breathe boys... treat the sharks proper rather than just ragdolls to be chucked back in and good luck. I get the pier fishing I grew up fishing skyway bridge, 60 bridge, and big bend all over the West Coast to the FL keys to East Coast from Jupiter all the way to Amelia Island. Need to work on the catch and release part there's nothing wrong with walking a fish to the shore and reviving em. You guys made it out like your pulling a Goliath grouper off the bottom... gotta start somewhere but treat the fish proper especially if you intend to release em. 🙏🤙
