That's my favorite spot and location to fish. It was my dad's too, so I buried his ashes there in the corner by the gate two years ago. Now He gets to fish Every Day ...RIP POPS 🙏🏾

Easier to land fish when the water is higher & Congrat's Daddy...... lol, isn't it a wonderful feeling having those little ones but to me it means you'll be bringing the older kids w/ you more often, for a while. I was a stay at home dad for 5 1/2 years. They say the 1st 6 yrs are the most important in the bonding & in how well your children develop as little people. I see fisher-folks on the way so thanks for sharing w/ us. I had wondered what was going on & this explains it. peace

I've been watching you about 16-18 months now so I've seen them w/ you & again, CONGRAT's to the new member. chat soon, GB aLL

Great explanation of the mono for casting reels… especially if you bring in a big one, max drag, for sure that braid would be embedded in the spool… it’s why I switched to mono, 30 or 40 lb Ande, usually clear.

Surprised you running 17lb mono. I remembered you using 50 braid all the time
@BeachBomberFishing3 ай бұрын
Yeah, 50 is good and all utilizando casting it gets dicey sometimes. Funny thing is that most 50lb nraids are 12lb mono equivalent in diameter.

@nosleepfishing2 ай бұрын
I get the best of both worlds by doing braid backing to mono topshot as my mainline. Braid backing for capacity with a decent amount of mono on top for casting and some abrasion resistance before the shock leader and rig is tied on.

Wrapping Bait..... I knew an old timer who used "cheesecloth" on crabs. Same idea as you're doing, keeping the bait together but the cheesecloth he cut in strips & wrapped it. Anything to keep the price of bait down is smart. Nice fishing & what did you mean about fish not running as hard using "mono" lines? Like they don't pull as much on the "hit"? IDKnow so I ask? When you caught the Drum I noticed his rectum looked inside-out or like he'd pushed it out? I guess it was the "bladder" but I didn't think the water was deep enough to cause that? Unless he just swam in from much deeper water & hit your bait before he'd balanced his system? I see them do this on boats @ 70-100 ft of water but this is weird.

Bro use the other needle that comes with that baster. The one with a closed tip and little holes on the side of it. It works way better. The one your using sometimes gets clogged with meat and won’t vent perfectly.

A fish fighting for its life and then taken out of the water is similar to a human running a 400 meter sprint and then immediately put his head under water. Touching a fish with dry hands take the protective slime layer of the scales, allowing fungus etc to cause infection. Most fish don't survive this type of stress.
