I think boats with Winona Catapults paired with nautopilots could act as battle boats and help us defend against bosses , powder monkeys raids and even crate new strategies against the Crab King

Nice M1ha1, you're forgetting that catapults break structures - including our own. The moment they board our boats and catapults start flinging we'll break our own stuff!

A small tip: if Eye Bone is stolen, Chester will still try to run towards it. That way you can use Chester as a sleuth dog for your items, or at least to get into the ballpark of where they are. Pirates don't steal items from Chester and he's gonna be stuck on your boat until you get to a shore, so you'll still be able to use him as a chest.

I think pirate raids are an interesting idea, but between klei going out of their way to make them as annoying as possible and the cursed charms punishing you for fighting back, I can't help but feel like these are going to be so frustrating that at the end of the day they make the game worse. If there were at least some way to counter them besides brute force that would make it better, like throwing loot in the water to distract them

There should be a way to appease them, yes. It is odd that after all these years we now have the potential to lose at least 1 inventory slot for days on top of a curse that we NEED to physically cleanse ourselves on a island that randomly spawns on the water.

Here is what the code says about the pirate stash loot for those who are curious: There are 3 33% chances for 1 gold nugget each. A 50% chance for 3 33% chances for 1 meat jerky each. A 50% chance for 3 33% chances for 1 banana shakes each. A 20% chance for either a shovel 20% of the time or a golden shovel the other 80%. A 50% chance for pirate flag blueprint. A 50% chance for a Polly Roger hat blueprint. Followed by any items that have been stolen by the pirate raids.

I do hope they can change the loot to garantee gold and bananas, mostly because it makes sense for pirates to bury loot, but overall it looks very interesting and engaging enough to peek my interest in the ocean viablity, not there yet but i like where its going for, for now. Now what would be interesting is too see a blackbeard version of said captain then im sold XD.

I think we should be able to remove accursed trinkets with a special version of the tricorn hat(like the Polly Roger hat) because going back to the moon quay queen each time I want to remove accursed trinkets is pretty annoying.

By the way, theriotically you can make farms if you just close your character with bones or sculptures, leaving space just for you, ise box and wheel. Webber can do this with nurses and spilting cave spiders on boat and Winona can do same with catapults

I think you might be overthinking how much space we have to work with here. That, and underestimating how far monkey attacks can reach. The Captain can hit from anywhere on a boat!

A setup that could work is doing a boat train using the Nautopilot and hauling a boat with a chest, some items inside and a _lot_ of tentacles (spawned with Wickerbottom's book using the good ol' wall/farm plot spawnblocking method). You'd definitely need Poly Roger or Lazy What'sitsname to recover the loot tho. And yes, I checked, you _can_ spawn tentacles on boats. They all insta-die when the boat goes under, so no water tentacles for us tho :-(.

This might all seem great and fun for experienced players, but a damn hassle for people still getting used to sailing. "Time to finally sail and explore! Nvm, I'm dead to monkeys"

Cannons definitely need a change Maybe players could station themselves at one to aim it. If the monkeys are coming you wont have time to rotate the entire boat and then run to a cannon

Are your items safe inside woby/Chester/dropped backpacks? Also if you build an ocuvigil on their ship does that stop them from despawning? I wonder if it’s safer to join them instead of fighting them

They go through chests like splumonkeys do meaning chest-like things are not safe either.

Using pan flute very often isn't sounds very good. But I think you can do it just once and after this place and low anchor on pirate's boat, after that almost everyone can crash them with blowdarts, catapults, canons or even dumbbells!

Hope klei makes the banners able to make monkey raids able to ignore ya cause that would just make sense. Farm raids to get the banner, banner stops raids, and then if ya want raids again just remove the banner. This update looks rad doe

these pirate raids are one of these things you just want to remove by default, like wildfire, like, this is just ridicoulus, 5 enemys on a small platform and you lose items, AND you get cursed, and as it sounds like, there is no minimum range, if they even spawn outside the blue ring

@@TheBeard777 To anyone who isn't Wendy main. For rest of characters face tanking is only option, which means they will eat a lot of dmg. And for characters with low health like Maxwell, Wes it's pretty much fatal clash even with armour.

My only counter to them raids really has been using bramble husk armor with another head gear item if you can and just tank and spank. If you play wormwood or have a purple gem to swap. Berry bush hat and snurtle armor seem to work on them as well however they still ransacked the boat. Idk if bug. (Do traps can not be placed on boats?) Good video guy.

The blueprint comes from digging up a treasure from a raid so you should be able to make it as it sounds like you already have it.
