It's um invisible since the space agency's doesn't have the funds and technology to make one yet. It would also be a waste of time to develop a military aircraft that should already exist by the 1940s. The Space agency's and the military's are not the same. So the Americans are using a non-existence B-29. While the Soviets are using a non-existence Tu-4. to launch the X-planes.

Isn't the song older than the USSR? In Bulgaria they kept the same anthem from socialist times, but removed the "glory to communism" like part. Our older anthems from before socialism are the royal anthem, that doesn't make sense for a republic and a military march that sings about rivers of blood and wailing widows so isn't quite suitable either.

I love the idea that you two kinda swapped each countries first satellites. Like the USSR here has launched a satellite that has scientific data, but in real life it only launched with a data transmitter. While the USA’s seems to only have transmission data, but Explorer 1 had a good deal of scientific data.

Hey Beardy! I love the series, and I just want to throw this in: the flight profile of your rocket is a bit too steep, especially for a rocket with that much TWR. I know stability might be an issue when flying the rockets by hand but I think you'll be able to lob a bit more into orbit if you start the gravity turn a bit sooner.

You can hit 80km with that cockpit. Your kerbal comes back looking a little blue, though. I'm surprised you're using the XLR-11 as a third stage - I've been using it as a second stage! The thrust isn't super great, but it can burn for as long as you'd like (rated life of 6 minutes, but because of thrust you won't want to push it past 4). I put an aerobee atop that, but your glorious communist program would have to substitute.

You should start your gravity turn a lot sooner. Almost as soon as you leave the pad in fact. Watch more Scott Manley early KSP videos. He has a magic touch that I always try to replicate. His gravity turns are almost always flawless. And sometimes he doesn't even touch the keyboard after nudging the rocket a few degrees east after launch.

You want to bull through the thick low atmosphear as quickly as possible. It depends on the rocket, but ideal gravity turns tend to start around the 10km altitude.

Your RSS gravity turn is bad, shouldn't be any higher than 45* at 1000 km/s, with just some exceptions lol. Also better to use MechJeb surface control for the proper/precision pitch management.
