I love the historical significance of the maneuver for releasing the missile, i think its called "the fools roll" and was designed to deploy nuclear arms from attack bombers to target small strategic targets without using bomber formations. This maneuver marked a change in the approach to nuclear weaponry

You sure had a lot of trouble with the plane fired missiles. 3 failed missions due to equipment and pilot error. Also he did an aileron roll and not a barrel roll in the rocket plane

Now a bit out of character, i wanna explain this reply a bit. You see, in the comments of For All Kerbalkind i mostly (you will find a few normal comments if you really look for them) roleplay as a soviet spacecraft factory worker named Marina Sironova. She is very patriotic, a true communist. Marina is also very convinced that the Motherland's ideology is the best thing ever and she is certain that in this space race, the Soviet Union "Will emerge victorious!". IRL i am a young-ish woman who is ethnically finnish, speaks finnish most of the time, and lives in Finland. (This is the flag 🇫🇮)

Nice landing at 16:46! Right on the centerline. I'm both a real-world pilot and a flight sim afficionado, but I just cannot handle planes in KSP at all, and am always impressed when I see someone that can. Excellent start, and really loved the production/editing you've done!

You of all people, as a player of a [space]flight simulator, should know that is an aileron roll you performed with the X-1! In fact, at those speeds an actual barrel roll may have destroyed the aircraft. That aside, I shall make my sacrifice to the KZbin algorithm, because not enough people do this sort of thing in KSP. ;)

Chuck Yeager commented in his autobiography that if he'd tried the roll that the movie The Right Stuff shows while still above the Mach, they would've found the X-1's nose poking out of the ground in China.
