Hopefully, that beautiful young boar will have a long life, there in Alberta, and father many cubs. Thanks for sharing this with us.

Very small to be on his own 😮 How long until they get big enough to not be a easy prey for big boars?
@TheBearGuyCanada9 ай бұрын
This is typical age of grizzlies to be dispersed from mom. At 2 years old they are normally only 100 to 125 pounds in the spring. Male cubs are at risk till they are not, meaning they better be quick, alert, and elusive till they can be dominant. A female has it a little easier from three on.

@TheBearGuyCanada Very interesting, also must be very scary for them, especially when asleep. We humans have the safety of a locked door, and they rely on hope that they chose a good place to sleep. Thanks for replying!

I always feel so sad for them after mom pushes them out the door! 😢 I mean do they really do ok on their own at such a young age? I worry they will be lonely and not get enough food!

They definitely have dangers on their own those first few years, especially the males. Many sows keep their cubs till this age and disperse because of the ample supply of food sources that she has taught them how to attain. In areas where acquiring calories is a little tougher mom's will keep them another season. Bears are very resourceful and adaptable, their biggest danger is other bears, that are older and more dominant.
