The UK had a large and powerful high tech navy in 1800 however their army wasn’t as powerful, but yes the USA somehow manages to have all categories, Air, Naval, Ground and Nuclear a very very huge quantity and of course, their technological capabilities are intensely good.

well, our Navy and Air force are huge. And I would agee that our Army and Marine ground troops are the best trained standard army the world has ever seen, but our ground forces would be destroyed if we got locked in a land war. Ground war, in general, should be long over and Russia is showing why right now. Its brutal and almost entirely unpredictable. In the air and the sea, it does not matter how hard you want to fight, technology will win every time. However, on the ground it is a different story. The slower pace, the use of cover and maneuvers, the fact destroying the vehicles doesn't mean the fight is over, and the role morale can play in ground combat means that a ground war is a crap shoot at best. Don't give the enemy a chance to make martyrs, don't give the people of the enemy reason to hate your people because of brutal ground war, and most importantly don't hand the enemy an opportunity to steal a win when you should only ever offer the opportunity to surrender.

One fact this doesn't take into account. The US has the largest oil reserve on the planet estimated to be somewhere between 3-9 TRILLION barrels worth of oil. The original estimates were 3 trillion, but the latest numbers suggest it is closer to 9 trillion. As for how much of that is recoverable, about 20%-30% using modern technology. So anywhere from 900 billion to 3 trillion barrels of recoverable oil. Edit: This is an oil reserve that nobody has tried to access yet because of how deep it is and how difficult it will be to extract that oil. Of course, the real problem here is that they completely ignored South Ameria as they don't really have any military capabilities, but what they do have is OIL and if the world elected to exploit that and then use their good submarines to scout a safe path from Brazil to Europe, small amount of oil from South America could get through the US blockade. Oh, and OPEC stands for the "Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries"

and we could easily just buck up and invest in wind, nuclear and solar energy. become entirely oil-independent within our own borders for energy. Then just keep the electric car ball rolling and leave everbody in the dust as far as dependence on other nations. leveraging us even further on the world stage. imagine if we got to sell our oil almost entirely. imagine if our solar and wind fields were in the central US and nearly impenetrable to foreign attack.. Kansas alone could house enough wind turbines to power half of America. Wind alley could produce enough electricity to keep every North American nation powered 24/7, 365. with some to spare.... the wind doesnt fully go away across a 1500 mile stretch of land. and its not ever going away.

Estimates say that the US has the largest untapped oil reserve in the world under the Rockies. Enough to provide oil to the US for the next 2000 years. The problem lies in getting it out of the ground. It would have to be done from Montana or somewhere up there, I can't remember where exactly.

If it's any consolation and makes you feel better we (The USA) do consider you to be our friends. Remember though. We appear to be a nation full of so many different views and political beliefs that we could not possibly agree on anything. That is not really the case. After the 9/11 attacks everyone and I mean EVERYONE was pissed. People who had never considered military careers we signing up just to get a chance to hit back. I knew guys that quit their jobs to travel to NY City to volunteer in the cleanup. 24*7 there was a feeling of Fury in the air. Most people know how proud Americans are of their country. That is what makes us a special kind of dangerous when crossed.
@h.s.6269
@h.s.6269 2 жыл бұрын
Those years right after were certainly something. There was a tangible drive and unity that fucking EVERYONE felt. That would play a huge factor in this scenario, whether or not the American people felt it justified and unavoidable. Cause I'd bet everything that if it sparked the same vibe that 9/11 did, we would go all WW mode again and turn as much work force as possible to supporting the effort. In a time where women didn't work (ww2, not 9/11) they dropped everything and worked overtime in factories happily and went home to tend community gardens to feed themselves and their area. For 9/11 so, so many people volunteered and those who didn't sent many care packages specifically to loved ones who did join and another package to be distributed to the general force. The time after 9/11 really was an interesting time to say the least. You could meet a perfect stranger and still feel bonded as Americans and help them out. Patriotism, compassion, and yes a thirst for revenge was our unifying drive. I miss the pride and compassion of those times, not the tragedy that led to it all though, that kind of trauma shook everyone to the core, which I assume would be similar in the scenario here.

For everything the common man knows (like the guy(s) who made this video), there's something, even if only a work in progress, that is highly classified and kept under wraps for tactical advantage. Even if the US didn't have the best military in terms of equipment and preparedness, it's true strength lies in its ability to take its time and strategize the best possible course of action and then make that happen.

He also didn't mention that we have an absolutely ridiculous amount of intercontinental ballistic missiles that are launched from underground silos and can strike anywhere on the planet. We can't use nukes in the scenario, but ballistic missiles aren't nuclear and they are still absolutely devastating. More than likely it'd be over before any real battle to place. Which is why NO ONE ever wants another major war in the world. Weapons are far too devastating now, too many innocent lives would inevitably be lost. No sense in it at all.

Having been in war as a US soldier I can tell you most of that on the video is true. But I can also tell you that it should be a great relief for everyone in the world to know that there is only a handful of countries in the world that having that much power would wield it responsibly and not want to take over other countries and conquer other countries, and the US is one of those. if certain other countries had this much power we would be doomed. Also, having that much power does not guarantee a win, look at Afghanistan I believe we got our asses handed to us because Society at the time and our leadership would not allow us to bring full power to bear.

He forgot to mention a very important part of the war, US manufacturing. If you know what happened in the US during World War 2, the US would quickly shift to war time manufacturing and likely outpace most of the world in new military equipment (ships, munitions, planes, tanks, etc.) at least in the earliest days of the war. Depending on details, and if the strategy presented was used, the US might even be able to hold the middle east with a ramp up in military recruits and new equipment. Also what he forget is the US has military equipment graveyards. Hundreds of old ships, thousands of older planes, and tanks and innumerable amounts of other obsolete equipment sitting, in various levels of readiness, for redeployed in the even of a major war. Even if the world destroyed everything that is current in active use by the US, we would, nearly, over night have the same size navy, air force and army that is equipped with tech equal to what everyone else is currently using.
@jiveturkey2875
@jiveturkey2875 2 жыл бұрын
Have to disagree. In WW2 the U.S. had a dominant manufacturing industry. Not the case anymore. The U.S. will have to first rebuild its own industry to produce for its war losses. This comes into an alarming case when you realize the tech used by the U.S. military and all of its components having to be imported. (I.E. chips)

While in WW2 we had the materials and capability to switch production, today, we have lost many manufacturing facilities and I don't think it will be anything close to the same as far as output. BUT, the great thing is that we already have such a huge stockpile and there are specialized manufacturing facilities already built for our war machine.
@davidmilner6831
@davidmilner6831 2 жыл бұрын
Jive turkey is absolutely correct. The production capability of the US is nowhere near what it was during WWII, nor do we have workers with the necessary skill sets to properly staff manufacturing facilities on the scale we had during WWII. Part of President Trumps desire to “make America great again” was to increase American manufacturing capability. unfortunately manufacturing is “dirty” and goes against everything that Biden and the new green deal advocates want to achieve.

no one ever explains how Chinese long range missiles ever actually find and hit their targets. US ships are beyond line-of-sight, and always moving. Requires real-time tracking and targeting with great precision at great distances. You need to observe the target to hit it.
@cheeseninja1115
@cheeseninja1115 2 жыл бұрын
That's why the Chinese anti-ship missles have such a complex kill-chain. They use AWACS to track the ship and on final aproch use the satellite telemetry to get the exact location and speed to hit it, but if you break any point in that chain then the missle becomes useless. Satellite are just the easiest target at the moment.

Sun Tsu said it's not about numbers basically but tactics and resources. We have heavily armed civilians and most people are pretty smart and capable as well as full of fire. Not to mention how tough and equipped our military is. We have enough nukes and firepower to end the world multiple times. Realistically though we like and protect our allies in the world and thankfully this hypothetical would never happen.

American here..this makes me proud to be here. BUT....one slip up, Failure to properly shut down the middle east oil, a breach of our cyber security, one lost battle can completely turn the tide of war. While America is formidable because of the amount of money we put into our military, arrogance can be the downfall of an entire nation, and we can't undermine the strength of foreign nations. They're not stupid, nor are they weak by any means. Being less powerful does not mean weak. This strategy sounds good but would be INCREDIBLY hard and complicated. C'mon, the U.S. against the ENTIRE WORLD?? We could put up a fight. And yes, if other countries invaded our homeland, they would, in fact, be met with millions of armed citizens. But gorilla warfare can be unorganized and undisciplined, which would be a great disadvantage against trained and disciplined military personnel. Not saying we would lose. But im also not saying victory would be as simple as this video explains. But it does give some really interesting insight into the idea tho. Very interesting indeed.

Also, depending on our own oil reserves for our needs ALSO puts us on a time clock. Idk how long thay clock is, but shutting off the biggest OPEC export would be a disadvantage to us as well. But I understand it's a bigger disadvantage to other nations, possibly even causing some nations to drop out immediately. But still, we don't have unlimited oil here either.

Understand, the USA has this capability now and has had it for several years, but has made no moves to dictate to the rest of the world. Instead, the USA has had an attitude of "Can't we all just get along and live and let live?" The USA also sends help or requests permission to send help to countries with natural disasters, even if those countries have animosity to the USA. The USA wants to live in peace, si vis pacem para bellum.

Well said! 👏 I've been saying that for years now. If the US was so mean, what's stopping them from blowing everybody up who hates America and putting the proverbial boot on everyone else? Do you think if Russia, China, Iran, North Korea, etc. had the tech the US has, that they wouldn't be planning on taking over the world? You'd be nuts if you said no. They would in a heartbeat and then see how you like the world if one of those country's were in charge. They are MALEVOLENT nations, whereas the US is a BENEVOLENT country. Always has been. 🇺🇸

@@JB-yb4wn We got dragged into all those wars! Europe can't live in peace unless the US provides that peace to protect it from other war mongering nations. We fought the Revolution to gain our independence, not for any other reason. The Civil War was a tragedy, but it was a war with ourselves. It also paved the way for racial justice, which lots of people don't recognize. The Korean War was to try to stop the spread of communism and South Korea was born of that. The Vietnam War was for the same reason and was born of a TRUE Democrat JFK. The Gulf War was to end tyranny and give the people a chance for a better life. Desert Storm was for the same reason. Some nations peoples are so used to living with the boot to the throat, that they don't know any other way and think the US is the bad guy. SD&SU

You’re right! We are friends. My dad hails from Liverpool and my mum is American. I have dual citizenship, and will always love both countries. I am also a firm 2nd amendment advocate and believe that behind our amazing military we have citizens that would take up arms against any threat. Myself included. My AR is for protection from all threats, foreign and domestic. Don’t worry, the United States has got you covered!

I'm a proud gun owner and big 2nd amendment supporter. My 9 guns of all types and 18,000 or so rounds of ammo stored up in ammo cans shows that. But the reality is in today's wars people like us aren't gonna be able to defeat an enemy with fighter bomber jets and tanks etc. It's silly to think we could repel an enemy with a real army and those type of weapons to use against us.

“be polite, be professional, but have a plan to kill everybody you meet" - Mattis As an army vet, I can say without a doubt no nation can really produce the caliber of generals like Patton or Eisenhower in the modern era except the US. It would be a nightmare to tactically battle a general like that esp one with the amount of military resources and assets we have.

I can only speak to army training, but if you really give yourself to the process, they really do break you and instill you with what’s been coined as the “indomitable American spirit.” Most commissioned officers have such a natural charisma about them, it’s hard to really describe and I cannot speak to what they go through at OCS but the most distinguished ones come from West Point.

America loses to Third world countries routinely, and hasn't actually been in a War since WW II (everything after that period has been "Military Actions Declared by Congress"). With the new "Woke" Nonsense, such as making "Shark Attacks" (recruits being yelled at by multiple Drill Sergeants) illegal, because it hurts recruits feelings, the US is producing low quality soldiers, and Generals like Milley. In recent Military War Games v. Britain, they performed so poorly, at one point they wanted to restart the exercise and have a Do Over, and have become a Joke internationally. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gpewmnyjdrCVnZY

Zach, the US internment camps were resorts compared to the death camps Japan had across Asia, in China, the Philippines, Indonesia etc.. were they starved, tortured and killed the various Asian people, Dutch, English French, Australian and Americans. Try looking online, Asia was filled with thousands of those death camps. There are photos online of people including children who were little more than skeletons. Google to read about “comfort women” Asian women forced into sex slavery by the Japanese. I disagree with internment camps but Roosevelt also interred German and Italian immigrants and stated that there had been Japanese, German and Italian immigrants whose loyalty lay not with the country that gave them a home but with their former countries. They were well fed, housed in safe and good conditions and received health care, not one of them was thin.

That's not exactly true. The US is just using a newer version of imperialism. You don't need to conquer and control every country if you can help setup governments that ally with your own country. The US also controls many other nations by being intertwined with their economics. The US, which I am proudly a citizen of (just to clarify), still has imperialistic goals. They have just gone about it in a completely different way.

Yes a lesson China hasn't learned and continues to grab for power. The world should actually be thanking India for keeping China busy at their borders. That's also why it's so troubling to see how the world is reacting to the whole Taiwan isn't a country Chinese propaganda. The fact that everyone seems to bow down to China including the USA with its current administration makes this whole video nullified.

@Rage Kage What kind of proof would you like? Would you like a list of the countries governments we have interfered with and installed political leaders that were sympathetic to the US? Would you like a list of the countries whose entire economies would collapse without the US's involvement? Or would you like a list of countries with US military bases in them? Imperialism doesn't have to have a negative connotation to it (though there are many instances in US history that are negative).
