Water & waste management is the most challenging thing for human civilization...if supply chain management from resources to production as commodity Working as corporate ways then awareness & monetary benefits can change the people's behaviour impacts... Most common people think it's a backward problem as nobody wants as others didn't do that see as quick fix manners... Best line" if u mix it u miss it" If 40% bulk waste is managed as a channel partners manner it can be speedy awareness as employees & employers family awareness as they seen the changes with education centre for youth awareness as their lifestyle can be more fruitful to change the behaviours towards waste management...

Everybody's responsibilities are 1. Make compost at home with your wet waste. If you don't have plants at home, you can throw the ready compost near the roots of any tree. 2. Reduce the use of plastics as much as possible and eventually bring it to zero in your home. Rather use sustainable alternatives. 3. Properly discard sanitary waste.

Indeed a great topic to be discussed but then it's in english..We are just talking about urban India but if you go into the interior rural India where plastic has reached and they are not aware of plastic disposable,the waste management system there is little work done. So It would have been better that such topics are discussed in hindi where the majority of India can understand and actually start working upon it.

Good video! The experts have mentioned most of the important points. One important point, not discussed on any waste management platform is: Technology, service providers, space, work force, funds everything is in place, still why do we not have efficient waste management? No matter how many private parties rope in, local bodies have the space and the funds, collected in the form of taxes, in their possession. In efficiency and reluctance of doing the job is responsible for the waste management problem today. I have been working on this actively for the last 30 years along with my profession. We are still discussing the basics!

I can’t help but laugh when people genuinely believe the government alone can fix this. Sure, the country belongs to the government; we’re just here as guests, right? So, of course, we’ll ignore the plastic ban, forget cloth bags while shopping, burst crackers on the road and leave the mess behind, buy plastic bottles for single use, and pour chemicals from soaps and shampoos down the drain-all while expecting the government to magically clean it all up! After all, why should we lift a finger when "they" can handle everything? Perhaps it's time we remember that real change starts with us-one choice at a time.

If nobody is picking up the garbage there is no point or there is no meaning in segregating in a corner for years
@santhisreeni
@santhisreeni 6 ай бұрын
Segregation is very important for the wet waste to decompost and get back to earth. Many people throw, wet waste in plastic covers. We are taking away the opportunity of half of the waste to go back to earth by doing that. Wet waste dumped in plastic covers releases many polluting gases. It's a big problem many cities are facing now. Dry waste if it clean, at least In a country like India, Raddhi wala will collect few and recycle. So Segregation is very important and primary step of responsible disposal of waste.

One wishes the experts would consider human organisation, segregation and specialisation (of different materials), matters of jurisdiction (particular business distts, preference for corporate waste or from malls/shopping distts). All make for disputes and conflict.. i.e., the human and organisational element needs address. Already individual waste pickers choose to exclusively collect say boxes and hardboards, and many materials may not be, or are differently remunerated. How to allocate particular materials without engendering a caste system. Regularisation into Municipal service seems pivotal here

When I lived in India I generated one hundredth of waste compared to my life here in Australia. I dont recall getting rid of household goods _ furniture remained at home not a fashion statement, shoes and clothes we used and could get a mochi to repair rather than discard, we never cluttered or littered our homes as shelter, food and garden were our world not walls and floors adorned with clutter. Now we are trading and manufacturing not farming or greening. I guess we will overtake the West by consuming unneccessary things _ discarded cars occupying precious space all over the place and now an ordinary bathroom is Western _ tub, screen, exhausts _ creating more manufacturing. Let us stop aping some other country's lifestyle and encourage a holistic, old, slow life

In democracy politicians are representatives of public So politicians focus on the matters which are important for people So if people start asking about this definitely politicians also do something about it In a poor and uneducated society people focus more on survival than prosperity So society evolves slowly Beyond politicians the biggest problem in modern world is too much consumerism That too nondegradable chemicals and materials based products consumption is the core issue We must start using biodegradable products in all aspects of our lives There is no other way

Both are telling lie, Bangalore was consistently bad in waste management, i am seeing this for last 23 years Bangalore had worst segregation pre covid, Only After covid i see some partial efforts by BBMP, which is better Bangalore is worst city as citizen awareness and municipal planning. Many other cities doing much better in Karnataka and other states. Don't fool viewers
