I see how my sin grieves God: at Gen 6:3, He says “My Spirit will not endure [this evil]” and at 6:6, it says that man’s sin “broke His heart.” God isn’t aloof and judgmental, but He will stop at nothing to draw us close to Him.

I find that Tara-Leigh Cobble is very easy to listen to and I feel the Holy Spirit and excitement as she speaks and shares her heart. I am looking forward to a year of learning and drawing closer to GOD through this journey.

God spoke to my heart about His patience this morning. I've read this passage so many times in my life, but today, God spoke to me about His patience. The Bible says that Noah, his family, and the animals entered the Ark, and only SEVEN days later, God sent the flood. So sinners still had 7 days to repent and enter the Ark as well and get saved, but yet they decided not to... God allowed them to have one last chance, God is patient! I'm so thankful He is. Genesis 7:1 - 4 [1] Then the Lord said to Noah, “Come into the ark, you and all your household, because I have seen that you are righteous before Me in this generation. [2] You shall take with you seven each of every clean animal, a male and his female; two each of animals that are unclean, a male and his female; [3] also seven each of birds of the air, male and female, to keep the species alive on the face of all the earth. [4] For after SEVEN MORE DAYS I will cause it to rain on the earth forty days and forty nights, and I will destroy from the face of the earth all living things that I have made.”

This is my second read through with Bible Recap. Last year I was trying to read through the Bible on my own and it was a mess. Then I prayed to God to help me understand Him in His word after reading Exodus and the very next day, I had the Bible Recap book in my hands. It was like God placed it directly in my hands (and my specific question about Exodus was answered in her book not to mention the whole book is tailored to help you understand the entire Bible). I never missed a day after that! and now can't wait to read through it a second time! And glad she has videos that give even more info now!

It was really interesting. My God shot for today: God's grace and mercy. I saw it in how God dealt with Cain in Genesis 4, as well as in chapter 6. God could have chosen to wipe all of mankind but because Noah was found to be righteous, God left him and his family to repopulate the world.

God's compassion and mercy stood out to me today. In Gen. 4:15 God put a mark on Cain so no one would kill him even after he killed his brother Abel. God also saved Noah and his family during the flood- a remnant of His people. The video today had very interesting tidbits about incest, the "sons of God" and the time in history that passed during these passages.

My study Bible (Life Application Bible) has an alternate explanation for the "sons of God" / fallen angels topic: "Some people have thought that the “sons of God” were fallen angels. But this is unlikely, because angels do not marry or reproduce (Matthew 22:30; Mark 12:25). Some interpreters believe this phrase refers to the descendants of Seth who intermarried with Cain’s evil descendants. This would have weakened the good influence of the faithful and increased moral depravity in the world, resulting in an explosion of evil." Can't say I agree with everything Tara says, but so far I am finding those differences valuable to uncover things I need to research more.
@cailin5301
@cailin5301 Жыл бұрын
Yes, to be honest, it makes a lot more sense for it to mean the godly and ungodly lineages. Not that their godliness is genetic, but that Seth probably raised his family to fear and honor God, and Cain probably didn't. Then when Seth's descendants started intermarrying, they started getting lax and compromising their beliefs. If this is correct, then it would be echoed in the New Testament where it tells us to not be "unequally yoked together with unbelievers" (2 Corinthians 6:14).

I find it interesting that even though Adam and Eve both tried to pass the buck of blame off to someone else and yet God still had consequences. We as a society could learn something from that. If it wasn't your idea to do something wrong, but you still do it, that doesn't absolve the responsibility in your choices.

God wants the Best from His Children. Cain gave God what I would call its good enough sacrificial gift, where Abel gave God the Best sacrificial gift. Sometimes we are like Cain, we become very jealous of one another especially if they are more noticed then we are, and we do nothing about it. I am referring to we dont improve on ourselves, our attitudes, our abilities, etc. So lets work hard and Giving our Lord our Best for Him

My God shot was the redemption he showed with Cain. The Cain and Abel story has always bothered me because of one being accepted and the other not. But, that aside, I knew Cain was marked but had somehow missed that it was in order to protect him.

Nagash the snake was Cain' dad, most ppl are his offspring, they don't have God's name on their DNA, most are cloned by now, the beast rising of Revelations, they kill and opres the real Israelites, who are only 5% of world population. Only Israel will remain on New Earth 2025...

God also said to him, "If you do the right thing, will you not be accepted too?" Which I believe was Him giving Cain a chance to bring the correct offering. He wasn't just punishing Cain for bringing the wrong thing. It's clear that Cain didn't care what God wanted him to bring. He wanted to bring fruit/flowers because he thought they were better, and he was unwilling to repent and do what God said. Instead, he decided to blame his brother Abel. I think it shows us that God doesn't hold us accountable for not knowing better, but rather for deliberately choosing our own way instead of His.

Abel brought the first fruits of his crops as an offering. It does not state that Cain did from his flocks. So Abel's sacrifice was pleasing to God and Cain's was not.

My God shot was when God marked Cain to save him frlm being murdered. Our locing Father spsred Cain, who had sinned. God protected Cain and displayed his loving charcter. Talk about mercy! God poured his mercy on Cain!

My God shot is His mercy in protecting Cain in spite of his sin! (Gen 4:15) I have a question on the theory that marrying and mating with human wives might have been an attempt by fallen angels (sons of God) to thwart God’s redemptive plan - which is that how would they have known? 1 Peter 1:12 hints that even the elect angels did not know these things beforehand, so how would the corrupted ones have known (Eph 3:1-9)? Or would they have just taken a guess from God’s pronouncement in Gen 3:15? I’d always just thought the reason the sons of God did this is as it says in Gen 6:2 (the beauty of the daughters of humans), but your theory is an interesting “whisper” to think about!

I've always subscribed to the thought that the enemy didn't know God's redemption plan. I feel if he did he never would've tried to kill Jesus knowing what it meant for humanity's reconciliation back to God.

What stood out to me was Noah was 500 when he became a father; hundreds of years older than his forefathers. I wonder if he was married later OR his wife had difficulty conceiving?

My God shot was the story of Cain and Able. Despite there being no law written or 10 commandments, Cain knew he had done wrong, and God still served justice. Our God is a God of love, but he is also a God of justice, and I believe this is the first example we see of this.
