@@mcgdufresne I have the study guide in addition to using YouVersion & the videos attached with each devo. While I did find it helpful, I don't think it's a necessary tool to have. But it certainly doesn't hurt, and keeps you doing a little bit more diving in than to just 'read' or 'listen' each day :)

I came across the Bible recap in the fall through the Bible app. I am excited to start my journey to read through the Bible in 2025 with Tara Leigh and to draw closer to the LORD like never before. I have been a Christian for many years but have never read through the entire Bible. Praying for consistency and that I honor this commitment to Him. 🙏🏾🙏🏾

You can do this! I was 45 years old when I read the entire Bible. It took me 3 years. Last year I started Tara Leigh's plan and finished day by day. A good tip: find YOUR reading spot. Have everything you need right there day after day. And set a reminder in your phone. I started getting up 30 minutes earlier to have God and I time. Praying for you this year.🙏

I see how my sin grieves God: at Gen 6:3, He says “My Spirit will not endure [this evil]” and at 6:6, it says that man’s sin “broke His heart.” God isn’t aloof and judgmental, but He will stop at nothing to draw us close to Him.

God is so merciful! Even though Cain killed his brother, God protected Cain from being killed by others (Gen 4:15).

God spoke to my heart about His patience this morning. I've read this passage so many times in my life, but today, God spoke to me about His patience. The Bible says that Noah, his family, and the animals entered the Ark, and only SEVEN days later, God sent the flood. So sinners still had 7 days to repent and enter the Ark as well and get saved, but yet they decided not to... God allowed them to have one last chance, God is patient! I'm so thankful He is. Genesis 7:1 - 4 [1] Then the Lord said to Noah, “Come into the ark, you and all your household, because I have seen that you are righteous before Me in this generation. [2] You shall take with you seven each of every clean animal, a male and his female; two each of animals that are unclean, a male and his female; [3] also seven each of birds of the air, male and female, to keep the species alive on the face of all the earth. [4] For after SEVEN MORE DAYS I will cause it to rain on the earth forty days and forty nights, and I will destroy from the face of the earth all living things that I have made.”

My God shot was the fact that Gos wanted to wipe out all the evilness and the fallen angels by causing the flood and start a new. They wanted to prevent the birth of the Messiah. Even before he was here he is where the joy is. God is good 🙌🏽🙌🏽

This is my second read through with Bible Recap. Last year I was trying to read through the Bible on my own and it was a mess. Then I prayed to God to help me understand Him in His word after reading Exodus and the very next day, I had the Bible Recap book in my hands. It was like God placed it directly in my hands (and my specific question about Exodus was answered in her book not to mention the whole book is tailored to help you understand the entire Bible). I never missed a day after that! and now can't wait to read through it a second time! And glad she has videos that give even more info now!

I appreciate listening to TLC, as I only discovered the TBR about a month ago. I admire her openness to different interpretations, and I believe maintaining an open mind is essential, as we continually learn new things. Regarding "sons of God," please consider Matthew 5:9, Romans 8:14, and Galatians 3:26. The term "sons of God" could refer to the sons of Seth, while "daughters of men" might refer to the daughters of Cain.

God's compassion and mercy stood out to me today. In Gen. 4:15 God put a mark on Cain so no one would kill him even after he killed his brother Abel. God also saved Noah and his family during the flood- a remnant of His people. The video today had very interesting tidbits about incest, the "sons of God" and the time in history that passed during these passages.

"Our aim isn't to know everything, it aim is to know God." My Godshot: God is gracious and merciful! He warned Cain that "sin was crouching at the door... And he must rule over it." Cain chose not to listen, just like us! Instead of destroying him, God punished him with a huge consequence but protected him with " A mark". He didn't have to do that! He has a plan, A merciful plan! What a wonderful, mighty, gracious God we serve.

My God shot today was God is a merciful and loving God, but like parents he has rules that humans are expected to follow as with Adam and Eve who did not when they ate the forbidden fruit. There are consequences for breaking rules. This does not mean God loves less but that he follows thru with his rules.

I am starting my 6th trip through the whole Bible, 2nd trip using the Bible Recap. The podcasts really help bring the day of reading to life. Thank you for sharing the podcast from the Bible Project. It was really interesting. My God shot for today: God's grace and mercy. I saw it in how God dealt with Cain in Genesis 4, as well as in chapter 6. God could have chosen to wipe all of mankind but because Noah was found to be righteous, God left him and his family to repopulate the world.

I have started reading through the Bible several times and each time got more than half down. Once I only had 15 percent left. With this amazing teaching series to accompany it, I hope to finally finish once. I do spend quite a bit of time on Bible study most days.

My study Bible (Life Application Bible) has an alternate explanation for the "sons of God" / fallen angels topic: "Some people have thought that the “sons of God” were fallen angels. But this is unlikely, because angels do not marry or reproduce (Matthew 22:30; Mark 12:25). Some interpreters believe this phrase refers to the descendants of Seth who intermarried with Cain’s evil descendants. This would have weakened the good influence of the faithful and increased moral depravity in the world, resulting in an explosion of evil." Can't say I agree with everything Tara says, but so far I am finding those differences valuable to uncover things I need to research more.

Yes, to be honest, it makes a lot more sense for it to mean the godly and ungodly lineages. Not that their godliness is genetic, but that Seth probably raised his family to fear and honor God, and Cain probably didn't. Then when Seth's descendants started intermarrying, they started getting lax and compromising their beliefs. If this is correct, then it would be echoed in the New Testament where it tells us to not be "unequally yoked together with unbelievers" (2 Corinthians 6:14).

my first time doing this, now questioning the accuracy moving forward. I will keep trudging along though, and glean from it what God wants for me.
